Is This a Fake?

http://cgi.ebay.com/62cm-XXL-Super-Soak ... 20ac18dadc

The detailing on this makes it seem fake. Not to mention there's no such thing as CPS 1800.

Thats a cheap cps knock off. It is made to resemble the cps 1500.

I thought so. But to me it looks more like a differently colored CPS 1000, not 1500.

edit: I just noticed that the same seller is selling even more fake soakers.

There's a line between selling stuff that may infringe patents, copyright, or trademarks, and downright lying. This seller has crossed it, since the guns will not be "Constant Pressure System".

Well at least that thing's good for an extra strap and pump + seal for homemades. Not worth half that $35 though.

Oh, and of course you can usually tell the fakes by the lack of a fill cap - because the reservoir is a screw-in bottle type.

Now that I think about it, fakes like this may be one of the reasons Hasbro haven't re-released any of the old CPSes.

Yeah, but what hasbro doesn't realize is that people would still buy the CPS', even though they might just be surplus stock. And yes, fakes are probably draining profit away from any real soakers that might be out there.

Probably one of the biggest reasons that Hasbro doesn't re-release old CPSs is that they're kind of dangerous.

And they think that all of the parents will worry about their little sweetums getting hurt. Yet those same parents think it is just okay to let a 7 year old child play call of duty. One parent on my street thought that letting their child play with older kids in a water fight was dangerous, then later that week the same kid was shooting his new airsoft gun.

The reason Hasbro isn't releasing blasters of high power is because they have realized that 95% of their target market doesn't care about power, and will buy any water gun they put on the market as long as it shoots. Pump action, heck, the easier the better! This 95% includes kids aged 6-12, adults looking for a laid back good time, and beach-goers. Only about 5% actually care about the output and range of guns, like us water-war enthusiasts.

Yes, there have been some safety concerns, but they were mostly with the CPS 200 mk.1. The real reason they don't release good guns is 'cuz they just dun cur.

Really? I saw a CPS 2000 for $300 on eBay and there were a lot of other CPSs for high prices. That makes it seem like more than 5%, but even so, they could make quite a bit of money buy re-selling them to people like us for higher prices.

Trust me, it's probably less than five percent. Most people who own water guns have never been to any soaker-related website. Look at the size of our community. Maybe 10-15 members at once, most of which leave after two months and never come back.

This doesn't take away from my point saying that Hasbro just doesn't care, I don't get why you say "Really?"

Wow, what a fake! It's insane how people do stuff like this!

I agree with steelboot. More than 3/4s of people selling real CPSes on eBay are just selling them because they found it at a yardsale or lying around in their house, researched them, and said Oh! I think I can charge 100 bucks. And I got this for $30, 12 years ago. Sweet.

If you read the descriptions of what they are selling and who they are, some even say its for charity.

No care about SSs, just want the mula, whether its for charity or themselves.

I've seen so many of these, I've trained myself to ignore them. It's so blatant: no reservoir cap, "HH Dream", Super 1800, the weird trigger. zeda, in your first summer, when you're looking on eBay for soakers weekly, you'll learn to ignore them too.

After looking more into this, this is a Dream 2500 soaker made by Hobbytron. It gets 20 feet of range.

In otherwords, don't buy this!

Now on a side note, hobbytron makes large soakers for cheap pricing. If you did some serious modding, you could make a CPS cannon. I might try this, this summer.
