Re: Recent additions to your armoury
The warm season is beginning again
The homemade was a failure although it looked promising I wasn't able to finish it.
I missed one crucial part(LRT) which simply isn't available in Europe.
And US companies do not ship overseas unless I order a few hundred feet.
Other alternatives such as bike tubes and silicon tubing didn't hold pressure
But at least a new blaster is added to my collection... the Monster X.
Apart from a few scratches it's in very good condition.

Re: Recent additions to your armoury
Did you try layered balloons?
My most recent addition - Water Warriors Pulsemaster.
I haven't range or battle tested it yet. It seems quite powerful, but the shot time on the biggest nozzle is ridiculously short. I kind of knew this from isoaker, but it doesn't really come across as numbers. Also I'm slightly worried that the strap clips aren't robust enough. Still, it HAS a strap; the lack of such is the major drawback to my CPS 2100. I reckon CPS 1200 primary and Pulsemaster backup would make a good medium-heavy loadout - though two such guns are probably needless in the type of battles I normally do.

Are layered balloons able to hold pressure?
The bike tubes I used were layered as well but they fail after after a few times and decompress almost instantly.
The guy who sold me the MonsterX also has a cps1200 available for 20euros.
Is this a reasonable price?

I think success has been had with balloons. They're a lot more flexible than bike tubes - think about how much a balloon expands when you fill it with air, it will do the same with water.
€20 is a very good price for a CPS1200, assuming it's in full working order.

Where did you pick up your guns in Europe?. I'm always interested in discovering European auction sites, as Ebay's foothold is surprisingly small over there.solar00 wrote:Are layered balloons able to hold pressure?

Usually I use the website http://www.marktplaats.nl.wierzbowski wrote:Where did you pick up your guns in Europe?. I'm always interested in discovering European auction sites, as Ebay's foothold is surprisingly small over there.
This is a Dutch auction site which has blasters available sometimes.(which I check once a month)
The prices on this site are much lower than on Ebay but the drawback is that you have to wait a year sometime for a good blaster.
The Netherlands a a small country so most of the time I can pick it up to save shipping costs.
Last year I found a MonsterXL for 35 euros and a cps2000mkII for 30euros both in near mint condition.
These people don't know that these classic cps blasters are collectors items.
Currently there is a MonsterXL available and a cps2500 in bad condition (but still working)
But this seller knows it's a collectors item.
Still waiting for a cps3200 to pop up.

Re: Recent additions to your armoury
Ohh, I check Marktplaats every now and then too!. I once tried to buy an old Lego set but I found bidding a little confusing as the seller never replied to my messages.
My tip for searching on Ebay is to ALWAYS use the advanced search and make sure you check "title & description" plus "store inventory" and "located in > any country region" to see almost everything. Then use the term "super soaker" or "water gun" and combinations thereof with quotes. I managed to score a NIB SC Power Pak a month ago for only USD$5 because the seller didn't put "super soaker" in the title . But then again, I bid on another NIB Power Pak and it cost me USD$70, so two for $75 is a great deal for me.

Re: Recent additions to your armoury
Sound familiar,
Marktplaats is not a real auction site like Ebay.
Its just a site to place ads(like in a local newspaper) with an option to bid on things.
And even if your are the highest bidder you can still decide not to buy or remove the bid without any consequences.
Items can be on this site for weeks or even months.(but new items are always listed first unless the seller pays a small fee to move it up)
In a most of the cases I just email or phone the seller directly to ask what price they have in mind without placing any bids. (not only with water guns) and if an agreement is made the item is put on reserved and I make an appointment for pick up.
In some cases people decide not to sell at all if they want to keep it or if they find a friend or familymember who wants it.
And yes the monsterXL and cps2000 I found last year were just listed as "large water pistol" without mentioning Super Soaker or type.
I have the time to wait, unfortunately I'm too old to participate in organized water fights (except for the occasional battle twice a year with family or neighbors in which I can show off with my collection)
But I still like waterguns(and other items involving water) when I was a kid the only waterguns available were small squirtguns.
I consider myself a watergun collector (but only classic CPS type guns)
