You need to accept the contacts request from someone already in the room, then they can add you there.

For some reason I got logged out of the skype app and now the room won't show.

Don't update to skype 5.5 features have been removed, and the interface changed too much to be useful

Actually I need to be re-added as well. Skype crashed and that room was the only one that wouldn't come back up. Don't update to 2.7, let alone 5.5

It is back. None of the old chat is there, but that is not a big deal.

My skype app refuses to notify me, and refuses to load messages until they are about 2 days old. If anyone needs to contact me I think email is best: metal(underscore)gear(underscore)2r5(at yahoo)

As for live chat, I have no idea, maybe someone could set up a live chatroll on this website? A free account can only hold up to 10 people in a room at once, but I think that's enough.
