Bot accounts and why I hate them

Guess by now you all figured out that Steven Frank and David Stone are bots.
(As if the links in the signature didn't tip you off)

So now a little rant:
When I was on an older forum, (Idk which one, it's been a while,) a bot account had some 100-200 posts. When I called it out, the owners took it into their hearts to IP ban me from the forum, and leave the bot account running. Isn't that great.

Story aside, we might want to keep a closer eye on these kinda things, even if they seem harmless.

I'm really sorry for the backseat admining.

If they banned you for pointing out a bot (provided you did it politely which I assume you did), they're just scum and not worth staying around. Don't bother with forums with such incompetent administrations.

When they first registered, there weren't links in the sigs. If there were they'd have been banned on sight. Seems this is a new mode of the spambots: register without any links, therefore winning the benefit of the doubt of the mods, then change the sig later.

My question here is how are the bots getting through? Can something be tweaked in the registration to help reduce these bots from getting through?

I'm not sure if I should enter this conversation, but when I registered it told me to type the letters I saw in the picture. It said it was specifically so bots can't get through. Maybe some actual person is creating accounts and later assigning bots to them.
