Wondering if anyone knows about this. Apart from in CPS-type water guns, what's LRT used for. McMaster-Carr sell it in a gazillion sizes, so there must be some industrial use for it.

It's used in spear guns and some surgeries from what I know. I've seen it used to when really long elastic bands are desired like in catapults too.

There's probably a list out there listing a bunch of uses for it but I haven't seen it. Maybe it's worth researching.

I think that it is like surgical tubing isnt it? It restricts blood flow to a limb or something if you tighten it around it. I have also seen it on mythbusters and they tied lots of them on a rod and then made a human slingshot out of it if that makes any sense. However if LRT is not surgical tubing then i have no clue.

Edit: Wow how could that have happened you posted like 30 seconds before me and said the exact same things.

Well, because LRT expands, it's usually not good for any applications except when you want the tube to expand under pressure. Vinyl tubing is probably what you're thinking of.
