I opened up an old CPS 2100 to fix the nozzle valve, and noticed some sort of disc with holes in it. It reminded me of the air restrictors they put into NERF guns. Should I remove it?

EDIT: Upon farther research it appears its purpose is for straightening out the flow of the water. I wonder why the two discs weren't aligned though...
Is this a "water restrictor"? (CPS 2100 nozzle)

It may be that they got knocked. You may want to realign them, or remove them and build a separate laminator, which will have less flow restrictions.

usually there are two disc with holes in there. Between these discs there are some small plastic pipes. THis all together is the laminator of the gun, to get a smooth and clean stream.
If ONE is lost and also the plastic tubes are lost, you should better remove the second one as it will only prevent the nozzle from any foreign things(like dirt or something lie that) but reduces the flow and therefore pressure at the nozzle. Important when using nozzles 10 X:: and up^^
