CPS 10k
Just performed a 50 ballon k mod and a check valve freeze on one of my super shooter 2000/cps 1000s, any advice on changing the nozzle or reccomended number of pumps? I Accidently blew my seal in the PRV with 13 pumps so ive threaded a skrew into it and hopefully it should be more stable. When i fired stream lamination was very poor, it was like firing a condensed torrent of mist, after firing i had a stream of say 14" diameter which didnt break up much more, accheiving considerable range. Looked quite formidable Im getting a 2100, Would it be a good idea to swap the blader from my 10k with the 2100's and do a prv freeze?

I think we ought to remove all references to "CVF/Check Valve Freeze" on all documentation except online community historical information throughout the site. The term's not specific enough and a valve that is gutted out with saws can't quite be called "frozen".
The 2100 is either one of the best or worst blasters for k-modding. The MK I (I believe it was) is amongst the best, and the MK III works decently too. The MK II however, requires a PRV removal in order for most k-mods to function at all, and the trigger was designed to break after one or two seasons or so of use.
Bad stream lamination likely means high stream velocity (given more power and stock nozzles/laminator only.), which will extend your influence at closer ranges (more difficult to dodge), but the lack of lamination means the stream won't travel as far.

How big is the current nozzle on the gun? We kind of need a scale to see what size it is, and if the performance drop would be acceptable.

I did a good deal of experimenting with PC swapping back in my days on the field, and can say that switching between 10K and 2100 is a tradeoff. You will get good performance in the 10K/2100 and bad performance in the 2100/10K. PC swapping works best if the donor PC is only lightly K-modded, if at all. 10K/2100 also draws water VERY fast. It is not a gun to use in a prolonged battle, while an ordinary 10K or 21K will last reasonably long.
Definitely widen the nozzle if it's still the stock size. None of us can tell you exactly how large that should be, you need to test for the optimal nozzle size for that specific gun (there is a guide to that somewhere on this site).

Thanks very much! Is it advisable to do a prv removal on an 1100k and use several balloons? Any preliminary ideas on what size nozzle to use and how to make it? Cheers!

Be aware that a larger nozzle will mean less lamination, as the stock nozzle was optimized for its size, thus the range benefits of a larger nozzle may not be as high as it could ideally be. However, in either case, it'll definitely be more effective at slightly closer ranges with a larger nozzle, though shot times will be cut considerably. (i.e. More pumping required per tap-shot.)
I should experiment with this myself someday, though I generally have a strong preference for stock nozzles. Instead of improving on my small/spherical CPS's, it would be better to perform some power-mods on the larger ones. (i.e. 2700 and 4100; some have stated concern with the 2700's pull valve durability, but the blaster is pretty weak as stock.)

But my gun is heavily k modded an increase in nozzle size might actually increase lamination and range as atm the stream is too fast to be lamina

You may want to consider adding a threaded adapter on it, so that you can attach nozzles that are optimized for lamination. (i.e. water balloon filler nozzles or hose barbs) Merely drilling it out requires care to ensure the nozzle stays smooth, though most of the time, drilled nozzles perform okay enough to be usable.

The best luck I ever had with K-mods involved the 2100. I found that the key to a successful modification is to know when to stop. 30 balloons worked very well for me, with a CVF and a stock nozzle. That gun is the most powerful one that I have, and is still working after ~6 years!
