are there any mods you know of that improve a max d 3000's range?

You could try some different nozzle sizes and disable the pressure relief valve, but aside from that there's nothing that can be done. Generally it's not a good idea to modify water guns like the Max-D 3000 anyway. You can't expect much more performance out of the water gun. It's far too limited as is.
