Get a different size screwdriver. Other than that, just try harder. If you can get the screws out enough, not all the way, just far enough, you can get the casing open.

My friend had that same problem. He just used brute force and plain stupidity...it worked though.

Also, do I have to hacksaw the pump cap off? Does it effect the performance/sturdyness of the gun?

If you have a glued pump cap, then its MK2 and yes, you do have to hacksaw it. The only real function of the pump cap is to prevent modders from opening guns.
Sawing it will have no effect on your gun, except for making it possible to open. :P

The nozzle seems to block me from opening my gun. Also, how do you get the pump cap off, I'm having trouble, even though I'm pretty sure I have a Mark 1.

You have a MK2. the nozzle on the mk2 is fake. Just rip it off and it'll split in half. It won't effect the performance of the super soaker. And the best thing to do about the pump cap is to saw it off.

Do you have any suggestions on getting these parts off?

The center part seems to be stuck...

P.S: All of the screws have been removed. Check out this pic out! It shows what can happen when you drill screws...

I know for a fact there's a screw in the middle of that yellow "tube". don't saw it though, there's a REAL tube right under it. unfortunately, I have an mk3, so I'll never be able to get mine apart :( . (I wouldnt try drilling either.)

You can pretty much ignore the times on that, I rarely ever have Xfire on when I play. I should, though.

Yo, Neo, have you seen the new mark system? Nibor found a flaw so the old one was revised. Your gun might not be mk3 at all. On the revised system, the mark 3 is very easy to open, no glued pump cap, no problems with opening the nozzle.

trekkie, you aren't supposed to use a dill bit that big. More like a 1/8" one at most. What you did won't just drill out the head of the screw, it will drill everything else out too!

You don't have to drill the pump cap off, you could just saw a small crack down the center of the cap. That way, you could still open the gun, but the pump cap is still there, if you care about looks. Same thing goes for the nozzle cap of the MK2.

[at]Doom: I'm pretty sure I used a 7/64" drill bit. I just thought it was funny how the heads of the screws stuck to the bit.

[at]Hyperion: How do you cut the nozzle cap off?

I'm saying you could split the nozzle cap and the pump cap down the center so it'll open just like the two halves. You could use a hack saw or something heated (like a screwdriver head). That way, you could still keep the pump cap and the nozzle cap and still have the gun look pretty much the same.

Well then, you must have a huge drill. My drill press has a small holder thing.

Well, so far I've taken all the screws out (some by drilling) and, even though I was warned about this, I sawed down the ridge on the top yellow piece. After I got the plastic thin, I used an X-acto knife to slice through it. I even did it without damaging the tube!

I still need to take off the nozzle cap. Wish me luck!
