It's been a very long while since I picked up a super soaker (like since the XP-85 days.....yeah I was younger then so I thought it was cool and I owned it) so recently me and a couple of friends bought some soaker tag guns. One got the liquidator, the other got the Helix. No one wanted the Hydroblade and no one had the money for the 3A. I picked up a vaporizer and Max D 2000 twin pack with sponge balls (I have a decent aim so I like the sponge balls). So earlier this week I find out that there was a rerelease of the CPS 4100 and it is supposed to be the sweetest gun this year. Alas. 3 of the Toys R Us stores that I have been by are all out (some have the secrect strike twin packs or those other medium size gun twin packs. TONS of twin packs by the by) and Amazon.com doesn't have anymore either (I'm on their email alert).

So what can I do? And I am not willing to bid on ebay. And I plan to go by Sports Authority tomorrow to see if there are some CPS 2100s. I just want to cream my friends. Is that too much to ask...HASBRO! So just throw out 2004 guns that I can use instead of the CPS 4100. A nice list in descending order would be great.

And yes I am new here.

I really recommend the XP 310. There is just something about it. I don't know. I just love it! As much as my 1500! It's weird. Of course I made mine awesome, but it is a really great gun to play around with and mod. :)

CPS 4100 :D
CPS 2100 :D
Possibly CPS 1200 (Someone said they saw them at S.A.) :D
Blazer
Monster X (Not recomended) <_<
Monxter XL (Not recomended) <_<

All of those are whats out there. The monsters are very over rated. I suggest getting anything that is CPS. I know that CPS 2100's are around 7 dollars and the 4100 is around 15 dollars. Soaker tag water guns cost much more.

where can you get a MX and MXL? I love my MXL. But the pump broke. The only bad thing is the range.

My two 2002 MXLs have the same range as a CPS 2100.

Some MXLs have range equal to a CPS 2100 when they should have greater range. For it's size, the performance is subpar. It's terrible when you have to compared it to a mid-sized gun. :P

Check out Amazon.com if you are so set on the 4100, which is $20, not 15 there. I would really recommend the CPS 2100s at SA because they are 1) cheap 2) extremely easy to power mod and 3) can get range over 55 feet when modded easy. The only real problem is the lack of strap, but if you're creative you can add one easy, not much work.

I heard that they were selling some mxls and mxs at sports authority. And I saw an mxl at toys r us.

I Don't like mxls. They're heavy, they have bad range and need way to many pumps. The only thing good about it in my mind is the output and nozzle selection. I bought one and believe me its not worth the money.

I got a CPS 2100 from SA. Great deal and a sizable gun too. Also if you are into buying a Max D 2000 check Target. They have em in single and double packs. Also the Vaporizer is there in a different color scheme...interesting.

Not some, all 2002 models. The 2000 models won't even reach 30 feet. The Monster XL shoots out 3 times the water (23X) a second than the CPS 2100 (5X-7X) with the same range. And both shoot 4 seconds. Buying a 2002 MXL in a local store would definatly be a better move than the CPS 2100. Also selling it again will be better.

CPS 1200 sell under $20 at the moment on ebay. That should be taken advantage of for people who are looking for one.

Well then, that changes everything. I waste water to get average range. And I pump it 3 times more. Sounds like a good deal to me!

I would only buy one to sell it, like you said. B)

I have to agree with Bluesmudge. Try to grab an XP 310 and a CPS 1200 or 2100. Sorry but yes, I'm endorsing the XP 310. Shotgun mod it (easy, look at my mod page on this site) and try to make a backpack for it later on.

Well, you can always put it on 5X to get 14 seconds. Contrary what most people say, the Monster XL has a very good pumping mechanics. 14 seconds 40 pumps. 1 second of shot time would require 2-3 pumps. SO if you want only 4 seconds it would need only 12 pumps maximum. Compare that to the 18-20 pumps on the CPS 2100, and pumping on the MXL looks very good. Also, the pumping is easier on the MXL.

People always complain about the weight of the MXL or the pump amount. Both criticisms are very baseless. No one ever said that one has to pump 40 times. You can pump only 20 times and get the same shot time of the CPS 2500 with the 23X. Or you only pump 10-12 times and get 4 seconds on the 5X nozzle. 40 pumps is for the people who have enough muscle power or are not that lazy. Which brings us to our next point. The weight of the MXL is not a flaw. It has 2 barrles, which makes the weight normal. Also, 25 pounds is not heavy. It could be 40-50 pounds and many could still carry it comfortably. If the MXL is to heavy for some people, its not a flaw of the MXL, but a flaw of the user. If some can't carry it, its their fault. Not the MXL. For example, we can not blame the Tank, if a Skateboarder is not capable of using it. The MXL is not for everyone, but that does not make the MXL bad. If someone can not use the MXL efficiently, its not for them. The fault does not lie in the MXL, but in the individual who can not use it. If the price is to high, its not the MXL fault, but the markets.

I don't want to sound like a jerk, but I do have to defend the MXL, since it is Hasbros state of the art. Best shot time, best soakage, best aestetic design and versatile pumping for a one-piece CPS cannon. And the distance is average. The stats speak for themselves. Now, I am refering to the MXL 2002. I used an MXL 2000 and that gun really is inferior to the MXL 2002. But basicaly one can not compare the CPS 2100 to the MXL, since they are not even in the same league.

It depends on what kind of position Bucket is in a war. The CPS 1200/2100 is a very versatile gun, while a MXL is a heavy gunner with tons of water-dumping power. A shotgun-modded XP 310 is very lightweight, takes a small amount of pumps, and empties the pressure chamber in 2 seconds (approx. times). The rapid emptying of the PC's lead to massive output in a single shot. If you made a backpack, your enemies would be in big trouble. Again a backpack XP 310 shotgun I guess is a medium cannon.

There was a vaporizer in a different color scheme?
