Re: Pronunciation of blaster numbers
I hope I don't get in trouble for bumping up a very old topic, but this looks so interesting, that I have to post.
XP 215: ex-pee-two-fifteen
CPS 1500: see-pee-es-one-thousand-five-hundred
XP 220: ex-pee-two-twenty
XP 215: ex-pee-two-fifteen
CPS 1500: see-pee-es-one-thousand-five-hundred

Re: Pronunciation of blaster numbers
SS, XP, CPS - pronounce each letter individually, though I'll often omit it if it's obvious from the context.
Numbers:
#000 - "# thousand" or "# kay"
##00 - "## hundred"
#00 - "# hundred"
#10 - "# ten" or "# one oh"
#20 - "# twenty"
etc
#*$ - "# * $" (ie each digit said separately)
EDIT: ## - "##" (ie I just say the 2 digit number as it is)
Nozzle ratings:
#x - "# times"
Numbers:
#000 - "# thousand" or "# kay"

Re: Pronunciation of blaster numbers
Now that I think about it, I pronounce everything like this:
On numbers with two digits, I just say the whole number.
Example: Super Soaker 50: Sue-per-soak-er fif-tee
On numbers with three digits, I say the first digit seperately and then I say the last two digits together.
Example: XP 310: Ex-pee-three-ten
On numbers with four digits, I just say the whole thing.
Examples: CPS 2000: See-pee-es too-thous-and; CPS 4100 See-pee-es for-thousand-wun-hundred
On numbers with two digits, I just say the whole number.

Re: Pronunciation of blaster numbers
I can out soak you using my ex-pea three-hundred-and-ten even if you are wielding a see-pea-ess twenty-hundred!
No, I don't pronounce blaster names like this, but it'd be amusing to do so from time to time.

Re: Pronunciation of blaster numbers
One thing I'd like to poke in here with (that may have been discussed in the past): Do you pronounce Larami as "lair-ah-me" or "la-rah-me"... In the commercials it's pronounced as the former while I tended to pronounce it the latter.
As for numbers I pronounce them as short as possible. For the thousands I'd say "twenty-five-hundred" or "forty-one-hundred", and "one-ten", "two-fifteen", etc. for hundreds.

I pronounce it la-rah-me, but each to their own. Also, would you pronounce it ex-pee nine-ty or ex-pee nine-dy?

I pronounce it la-rah-me too, even though you're supposed to pronounce it lair-ah-me.

Re: Pronunciation of blaster numbers
Saying "ex-pee nine-dy" is like saying "inner-net" instead of "internet".zeda.beta wrote:I pronounce it la-rah-me, but each to their own. Also, would you pronounce it ex-pee nine-ty or ex-pee nine-dy?
