The Pulse Master looks like a nice gun as well.

The PulseMaster looks good, and feels good - big, well-built, and not flimsy. It's powerful too. But it has a really short shot time, which would make it generally inferior to say the Vindicator I think. If you tend to take tap-shots anyway though, the PulseMaster may be a good choice.

How does the pulse master stack up against the vindicator or the vanquisher? Is it at least a comparable weapon?

Did anyone notice that you can buy the Shot Blast with its own scope?

As for what I think of the 2010 line, they all look like terrible blasters. I'm going to stick to WW for now.

The Shot Blast is the only SS that interests me.

The Pulse Master has comparable reservoir volume and range to the Vindicator on its largest nozzle, but falls short on shot time due to its small PC. It does however have a more intuitive nozzle selector and is better balanced...in saying that, I rate the Vindicator higher than the Pulse Master for combat, but depending on your style you could probably use both to similar success.

Haven't used a Vanquisher yet, its performance will ride on whether a larger nozzle is feasible on it or not, so:

Modded Vanquisher (assuming it can perform well with a large nozzle) > Vindicator > Pulse Master

or

stock Vindicator > stock Vanquisher (if it has good range) > stock Pulse Master

i agree. The only reason I would be even interested in the others would be to make vids, and it would be the evil peoples' guns while the hero is yielding a CPS 2500 that gets twice the range (no joke). The Hydro Furies get 16 feet of range, and the 2500 get 3 times that amount.

The Soaker Wars line stinks!

Martian, nice find. Looks like the new one is more towards the red dot/ACOG style seeing how it's shorter and smaller than the LS one. (not that it makes any difference anyhow)

The Vindicator and Pulse Master appear to be a fairly even match in hit based games. The Vindicator's PC will indeed increase hit probability merely by the shot time ability; a short sustained shot (usually one second) is more likely to hit than a tap shot since the tap shots can be dodged more easily. Once the PM fires a sustained shot, it immediately has to re-pump while the Vindicator can continue.

Of course, I haven't used either of them and probably never will be able to.

It looks really nice, but would it be of any real use?

If it's anything like the Nerf scopes, I don't assume so. It'll just be a cosmetic accessory to add to the "coolness" of the gun rather than do anything practical....If it can actually be used to accurately aim shots I'll be very surprised indeed.

Even if you could use it to aim, what is the point when the gun in question maxes out at 25 feet?

You'll aim more accurately by using the rail itself than some pseudo-scope. Not only do they lack zoom, they also have absolutely no way to center and line up the aiming which makes them completely useless other than to look cool. Someone did do a modification where a rugged hobby camera was put into a Longshot scope to record war footage (it was for Nerf) but that's about the extent of how useful they are.

Plus...it's basically a shotgun if I'm understanding it properly.

Its sort of like a shotgun, but it uses a stream of water instead of a spread. The only actual shotgun like blaster I have seen is the Splat Blaster, and that is very short ranged. Also, couldn't you use the scope as a storage container for flour bombs and the like?

The Helix is a really nice underappreciated shotgun style soaker, I love mine. And yeah, a scope on any supersoaker is useless since you CANT aim at your target. You'd have to aim above to get the arc effect if youre at long range, which is the only way a scope is useful. The flashlight add on could be vaguely useful.
