I am getting a new water gun and need some advice. I have heard about the cps 2000 and the monster xl but these can be expensive. Can someone reccomend me a water gun that has a similar power to the cps but has a lower cost. I was thinking of the homemade rout but they might be fragile. Thanks

Welcome to SSC!

Homemade might be fragile? I suppose it depends on what you make them from. PVC pipe is thicker than the plastic used in manufactured water guns. I've had far fewer breaks with homemade water guns than manufactured ones.

You should be able to find some CPS guns with that budget.

Unfortunately, living in the uk means that super soaker cps are in short supply and pvc pipe is also in short supply, i will proberly have to try a car boot.

If there's a TK Maxx near you, they may have the Water Warriors Pulse Master in stock. It rivals the smaller CPSes for power, though has a very short shot time. Water Warriors do a number of other powerful guns too.

For your budget you probably could get a 2000 on eBay, but you'll have a wait for one to come up. And of course prices are higher in summer than winter.

Infat, there is one on ebay uk, i heard that it is no good in water fights because it requires alot of pumping and is really heavy, would it be worthwite shelling out lots of money for a cps 2000 or getting a cps 3200?

The 2000 does indeed have the problem that the output is so high as to make the shot time very short. The similar-looking 2500, despite being less powerful, has a choice of nozzles, meaning it should be more battle practical.

The 3200 (or the 3000) is the choice if you reckon you'll use a lot of water, especially if you'd rather not be carrying two guns - something that's perfectly viable if both have straps, but you may find hampers your movement.
