I have a question, does anybody here really belive that you can be a sniper with super soaking?....I Don't......I mean....how can shooting some one from about 30 feet away be called sniping?.....theres no logic in it all, and you would most likley be caught unless the person you shoot has the reflexes of an aging panda, I call it ambush.....thats what it is....an ambush.....im sorry folks, its an ambush, a very sneaky ambush if you have good camo :cool2:

Actually according to the dictionary what we do really is sniping
Sniping-to shoot at exposed individuals (as of an enemy's forces) from a usually concealed point of vantage
But in a water war it's pretty lame because you end up sitting around doing nothing during the whole war! You miss out on all of the action! I would rather actually participate in my water wars :soakem:

there should be more in that definition, my websters dictionary say: To shoot at a target from an extended distance from a hidden position

Wait.....hmmm..... ( A shot from a hidden position)....that doesn't varify the distance away from the target...but, I think it should be standardized to mention an extended distance, or else it defeats the purpose of a sniper :Hey, that's funny.:

although, with a wbl from 100 yards away, that would good enough for me to call sniping....

First off sniping doesn't really have to do with range...that just an adavantage you want to have so you can get away...secondly not every one has a wbl or a homemade soaker, thirdly I don't get those kind of ranges with my wbl I get 70-80 yards though :Hey, that's funny.:

Waterwar techniques in sniping differ enourmasly from actual bullet combat. Angle of the shot fired at any given target detiremines a lot about how the victim preceives the shot. If you were to shoot someone in the back, when you were in back of them, they would surly capture you. But say you were to slightly bounce the shot off a tree, or fire at a opposite angle of where your sitting, it would allow you to make someone think that they were being shot at from the side, or front, when the sniper himself were 20 Feet in back of the victim.

Then there's shadows, lighting, position of the sun, etc You need to be aware of these things. Snipe in either dusk, or earlier dawn. Sniping at night has to be done at far ranges since a Blueish White waterstream sticks out a lot at night.

Range with general waterweapons, isnt' that great at all, so you have to get closer than the max range of your gun to make the shot felt.

My Point:

Sniping is possible, yet not possible. There are too many variables with sniping to say that it's possible or not possible.

You can't really snipe. I mean, even with Code's 310 mod, you only get 25 yards, which is easily covered by anyone who can run. Snipers have a small part in a war, but only as an annoyance.

Well, I don't think of them as snipers. I prefer to call them sharpshooters. A sharp shooter has to be fast and accurate when they attack. The only way I could really fathom a true sniper in a water war would if it was a night (they could use the concealment of darkness to attack).

im more with DoDgE ViPeR BOi just caus of lack of range... we do some times call some one a sharp shooter on our squad... but in reality its not pracital to call some one a sniper...
but it is a good pritty funny to listen to peole who claim to snipe with a MD-6000 or the like... in general I Don't like to use that word... Especially with a 6000 the only time is used that work was when I was on our roof (20-30 feet up) and I shot my lil bro who was some where down belowe... he had no clue what hit him =P
but it was really mean =P but it was fun
=P
so yeah... total forgot what I was writeing about =P

I can only see someone "sniping" from a high point, like toothpickmatt said. I would do that, but where I live it's pretty flat, and there are a lot of tress, but none that can be climb that are tall enough. Sharp Shooter sounds like a more appropriate word for someone who soaks you and runs away.
