Hasbro '05 soakers

Nice find!

The date they place this press release on is definitely inaccurate. I have checked their press releases several times after Feb. 18... and I have only seen this now!

Funniest thing is that Gail Carvelli from Hasbro told me "As soon as we issue the press release on the new Super Soaker line, I will make the information available to you." and given their inaccurate reported date, I was contacted nearly a month ago. :P

Anyone else notice they're having the spring break battle again?

Holy XPBackfire-esque $4000! I might fly there for that!

^ can you say total pwnage if you could bring your own gun?

CPS 21000 VS Triple Shot.. hehehe...

EDIT: From the website;
This year, with the help of the SUPER SOAKER SOAKERTAG Squad, Spring Breakers are invited to create the wildest and wettest water fight in the history of Spring Break!
Sound corny?

I think everything that they put to get little kids to by the soakers is corny! :Hey, that's funny.: I think they just are trying to use words that a lot of little people as I like to call them, use such as: totaly awesome dude! You see those on a lot of things. We use the words too, but it just seems better when we say dude, and totaly, so I have nothing against Hasbro, or the words. B)

to help create a SUPER SOAKER water fight of epic proportion.
^ If they want epic, they should make something on the scale of wetmonkey's story.

On Tuesday, March 8 and Wednesday, March 9 hundreds of Spring Breakers will be invited into the SUPER SOAKER SOAKERTAG beach arena to undertake the SUPER SOAKER Survival Challenge. The activity begins at noon with non-stop water fights throughout the day. Participants in each SOAKERTAG battle will receive a SOAKERTAG body-target and a SUPER SOAKER water blaster and will be divided into a Red team and a Blue team. After some brief instruction, the college co-eds will then strive to survive a fun-filled SOAKERTAG water fight. The object is for each team to blast their opponentsÂ’ SOAKERTAG body targets before theirs get blasted! After two days of elimination rounds, four daily winners from each of the ongoing mini-battles will move on to the final competition.
Do they get to keep the soaker? Free Flash Flood, anyone?

They should be called the PLAYSKOOL line, and bring back the 2000-2003 models for the over 5 crowd.

Wow. The 2005 line of soakers suck compared to Larami's old cps guns.

Oh well. I guess we'll all be looking to homemades for the future of water warfare ;) .

Actually, I am pretty happy with Hasbro this year. We got at least 2 CPS soakers, one big, and one small. I recently got the FF, and has range almost as good as my 4100.(I think) Besides, if we mod the $h!t out of the FF, it could be the most popular modded gun next to the CPS 2100. As Doom, said it's going to be an easy CVF, and the collosus is easy! All you do is cut the PC case open, and slip inertube on, which I did as my first mod when I was a newbie. I am not trying to get anyone mad, but please give the guns a chance at moding, because I doubt anyone has modded the FF. Well my side of it, correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm writing up a Flash Flood modding tutorial as we speak. It covers Opening the Gun, Collosus, CVF, Nozzle Mod, and Pump Handle mods.

This year's line is no doubt an improvement over the 2004 and even the 2003 line (remember EES?). What I'm worried about is Hasbro insisting on ALLCAPSING every product name. It's downright uncanny.

^ No wonder KingSoaker capitalized PLAYSKOOL!

I do find that funny -- especially given that search engines prefer bolded text well over capitalized text.

Dude, give Hasbro a chance. Their soakers this year are pretty good, and next year will probably be better.

Cool! When you're done, where will you post it?

Dude, give Hasbro a chance.
They were given a chance. KingSoaker only stated that the 2005 guns don't compare to older CPS lines. :P

As for homemades being the future, it's what I've been saying for a while. Ever notice that whoever makes homemades doesn't really quite turn back? There's a reason to that.

I agree, We've been giving them a chance since 2003.(At least you have, I just started soaking) I've got to say, though, I do like my aquapack devastator more than my CPS 2100 (more range).
