How big is the devestator backpack? People say it is embarrasingly small.

Is the flash flood a spherical PC or Cyindrical? I think I will get the flash flood if you are able to K-mod it.

Uhh, nope. Didn't Chris Reid indicate that it was, in fact, a cylindrical CPS bladder soaker? Please correct me if I am wrong.

Soak on!

You could see that it couldn't possibly be K-moddable right from the picture. Does it's pressure chamber appear long or circular? If you answered long, congratulations, it's a cylindrical PC gun -- ready for a Collosus modification. A test like that works on most every CPS gun made, except of course for Buzz Bee Toys Hydro-Power guns which would be easier to identify (given there's only one type of BBT CPS).

Now, the Collosus modification may be harder to do, but it can get the same results as far as a power-up goes. Just remember to try using some latex rubber tubing or many, many layers of correctly sized bike tubes.

USSA, would you mind if I put that on our site in our 2005 Preview? That's a lot of information and it would be best coming from someone who has the guns.

A little more: the Flash Flood's tiny 350 ml pressure chamber makes it's output about 1.7X. I checked that first because it was the one I was most likely to buy. That's a lot smaller than I expected... PC expansion would be a highly recommended modification from myself. Are you sure the shot time is 7 seconds? Seems Hasbro digs low output now (not that I mind). This makes the Flash Flood have the largest "contrast" of nozzles I've ever seen...

Where did you get the darn things! Also do you live in a warm area, because I don't see why anyone would sell guns in winter, exept Ebay.

Target always seems to get them first and there is roughly 2 feet of snow on the ground now so no I would not qualify this as a warm area.

Devastator – Hasbro say 3000 ml and I’m going to trust them on this

About the statistics no problem.
The x-age of the main nozzle does appear to be about 1.7x (just from eyeballing)
I just tested the shot time and for the main nozzle it is 7 seconds (and for this reason I can't feel my toes.) Don't forget the grenade launcher though, that has quite good output.

On the note of chamber expansion (as currently it's painfully small ~ 3 shots.) it would probably be rather difficult as the new quick fill cap is... unique. It does what it's supposed to (decently) but prevents us from doing what we want to.

I saw them all at Target today! They remade the Helix, and Hydroblade!
Soak, or be soaked that is the question!

Lucky.

That's cool, but the real question is if you bought any of them. Did you?

For the last 2 years I've always bought the biggest from the SoakerTag lineup so this year its going to have to be the AquaPak Dev.

They've really pulled their socks up this years. Since the new lineup has not 1 but 2 CPS blasters :D

I guess this means I'm going to buy a Dev. K-mod it and then investigate Collosus.
While I'm at it I'll Freeze check and get the old nozzle drill out. ;)

I will probably buy the Aquapack Devestator and the Flash Flood. They look like the best of the line as they are both CPS.

But I am tempted by the triple shot.

Does anyone know the nozzle size or output of the Aquapack Devestator?

Edit: Just a little heads up -- the spell check caught your Devastator misspelling. Please use the features we give you!

You can't K-mod the Devastator; it's got a cylindrical CPS chamber not a spherical one. You'll have to colossus mod it.

Thanks for the information Forceuser. Now that I have seen that I will probably get a Flash Flood, perhaps an Aquapack Devestator and certainly a Triple Shot.

My bad.. thanks force. I guess I won't bother, I've never wanted to collosus mod anything...

Why, what have you against Colossus? You know, it's the parallel of K-modding...

Except harder and with not-as-good results :D

And you have to use inner tubes....

Come on you got to admit that?

It's not really that much harder in my opinion. Each layer, yes, is harder to put on. Those are the individual layers however. A heavy Collosus mod is only about 10 layers. When you get used to stretching the rubber and can do it well, you'll be able to get a lot of Collosusing done.

Of course, if you aren't very strong in the least then the Collosus mod would be impossible.

I must have redone the heavily Collosused CPS chamber in my CPS homemade about 30 times already! When you've got used to rubber stretching and made your own techniques, you can do it much faster.

There's also the option of using a single piece of latex rubber tubing slid over the chamber, which would be the easiest of them all. ;)
