launcher blueprints

Post by littleguy » Wed Jan 28, 2004 11:30 pm

Alright this isn't exactly soaker related but it easliy could be. I need plans for a balloon/spud/anything launcher.
It should probably be air powered but anything that would help.
Also any advise woudl be GREAT. Thanks in advance for any plans links or tips!

PS-this will be for any water balloon or potato sized object-if acording to plans it will be about 8-10 feet long

Hey, I haven't seen you in a while. Welcome back.

That site has instructions on how to make a good WBL. You may also want to check out these other sites:

I'm moving this to Tech, too. I hope your launcher goes well.

Ok, I hope it goes well.
On a side note, I just bought all the required parts to my homemade. I'll get a strap and such later. :D

I've finally got a solid design down and am ready to buy the parts. Apparently the gun looks more like a super soaker than a wbl. This one is only about 3-4 feet long.

Here are some helpful sites ...

http://www.gotspud.com/howto/airgun1.htm

I'm buying parts today and will post pictures soon.

6-7 feet long you say? Are you hoping on using it for base defence or something? The two wbl's I've built have been less than 4 ft long each. The most recent one uses an anti siphon solinoid valve, and it's electric, but I'm planning on turning into a pnuematic valve, because I hear those open faster, thus more range.

DONE

It's quite large and fairly heavy. I'll post pics when I get around to taking and uploading them (my highschool's homework load and dial up being factors in this)

This has taken too long but is awesome to behold. the carrots that I've launched explode against trees.

As it is, it has interchangeable barrels. This means that I need a larger one to launch baloons.

ALSO... ********WBL LAUNCHING WOULD BE EXTREMELY UNSAFE UNLESS AT FAIRLY LOW PREASURE*******

Why would it be unsafe? Do you mean at close quarters? What sort of range are you getting? Is it like the AquaTech one?

wouldn't the Water balloon explode in the barrel coming out if it had a lot of pressure?

You're supposed to put a cup or something to protect it around it, like a protective sleeve. I think that falls off too.
