Does anyone else here do warhammer (any type)? Just interested.

How weird! I've been collecting Eldar for a bit now. I haven't played any games yet. It isn't really that common, so don't expect to get a lot of responses in this thread.

Well it is very popular at my school, even with a club (sad I know, I went and beat them all so now I don't bother).

I collect:-

Fantasy
-Skaven (got free, not much, used for a large conversion)
-Orcs 500 pts
-Dogs of war (I always convert so I made these from scratch basically)
-Dwarves (Unbeaten, 2000pts)

40,000
-Space marines (too easy to win with so I gave up)
-Armoured company (mate offered me about 10 tanks for a fiver so I accepted (he was quitting))
-Imperial Guard (unbeaten 2000pts)

May seem a little sad, but I am an entrepreneur, I buy large armies off ebay and then sell most to the people at my school club and then get money and models in profit... I am all my models and about £500 in profit...not a bad business. Hey, that's funny..

Your imperial guard army is unbeatable at 200pts? Isn't that like a huge bulk troop army? All I know is that IG armies are usually easy to mow down, but have killer artillery units like the Lemen Russ and Basilisk tanks. The Eldar's main troop is much like that, but for some reason they made them cost more points, limiting the amount I can put on the board (I am reading the codex as I type this.... :P ).

Sorry I meant 2000pts, I corrected it now.

Yeah they do use a lot of troops as a rule, but I stick to specialist troops where I can (rough riders, ratling snipers, heavy and special weapon teams).

Leman Russ's are great, they are very versatile. However I hate basilisks, as they are hard to use and guess ranges.

Eldar are more expensive (ptswise) because they have better stats, an average Guardsman really does suck, awful toughness and strength and weapon skill. However I don't know that much about Eldar really.

I collect Eldar as well, though I haven't really done any for a while. My army's only about 700-800 points.

My Eldar army is as follows:

HQ
-Avatar with sword (wailing doom)
-Farseer with witchblade

Elites
-4 striking scorpians (two with chainsword, two with shuriken pistol and chainsword) and exarch with scorpian's claw and shuriken pistol
-4 warp spiders, all with death spinner and one exarch with dual powerblades and exarch death spinner

Troops
-18 defender guardian squad with starcannon weapon platform, all equipped with shuriken catapults and grenades, except one (I can change grenades from game to game) led by warlock with witchblade and shuriken pistol
-I think it's a squad of 8 dire avengers, all with shuriken catapults and exarch, with diresword and shuriken pistol

Fast attack
-Vyper jetbike equipped with twin-linked shuriken catapults and scatter laser (usually)

Heavy Support
-Falcon grav tank with scatter laser, twin-linked shuriken catapults, and pulse laser, can alternate between vehicle upgrade options if necessary
-Heavy weapons platform with two guardians, one with shuriken catapult (the platform is the death spinner cannon--if forget the name of it)
-Warwalker with two brightlances

I have more elites; A whole squad of howling banshees and one wraithguard.

I have:

HQ
-Farseer with Singing Spear and Shuriken Pistol
-3 Warlocks, 1 with Singing Spear and Shuriken Pistol, and 2 with Witchblades

Troops
-23 Guardian Defenders

Fast Attack
-2 Jetbikes
-1 Shrieker Jetbike

Heavy Support
-1 Fire Prism Grav Tank (with all the basic stuff)

Eventually, if I decide to carry on collecting, I might get myself some elites.

Don't you hate the antlers they put on that one warlock model? What the heck was the point of that? Most people would probably just clip those off. Games Workshop must have been in a festive holiday mood when they designed that model.

Yeah, they do look pretty stupid. If they wanted something like that, they could have used ones like on the farseer and avatar.

Do you ever do heavy conversions? I find the standard models a bit boring.

I haven't done that many before, and I don't really plan on it anytime soon. I've lost interest in Warhammer a while back now and until I get a chance to play an official game, I probably won't.
