Thanks. Nice discussions on your favorite extinct forum, I see. When I build this, I will do some things that are hard to explain in words. I was planning originally on using a homemade valve, which would have linear flow and linear opening. I have several ideas for this valve. I was actually not planning on using a catch.

I believe Nerfers use rubber washers for their plunger heads as they create a better seal than o-rings. As for springs, uin13 mentioned a K45 spring in one of his videos:

That might haven been him messing the name up, though. Also, if you do decide to use a catch instead of a valve, the SNAP homemade Nerf gun uses a clothespin trigger, which is probably the simplest mechanism out there. I don't know how it'll hold up to a K45, but most people can use 26's without a problem.
