If you thread it right, I don't think it would rip off. On my APH, I used threads to connect the PC to the rest of the gun.

Due to work, I was unable to buy the parts I need for this. I will still build it, but it probably will not be finished until next week.
On another note, how big should my PC be? I am aiming for a liter of usable water. Is this enough?

It depends on how big you want it to be. One liter should be fine.

In the interest of saving cost, I am considering downgrading to 1/2 CPVC and part number 6289K14, which is just $2 a foot, far cheaper than 5/8 inch rod.
Is there anything wrong with the above part number? I am not too worried about reducing the bore of the gun, my only question is whether that rod will work.

I was able to find everything I need on Mcmaster, except for the reducer for the PC. The closest I can find online says it is for "gravity flow" and 0 PSI. It also says it is sched 40. I am very hesitant using this under pressure. Will it work?

this might be too late, but if you live near a dollar store (or a 99 cents store), and check in the back, the old discount water guns usually have pretty good seals.

Um. I don't need any seals for this. I doubt it would work for the valve, and for the prototype I am using my Vindicator's pump.

EDIT: wait, i was referring to the valve, but you're right, it might not work. plus you have a vindicator pump.

Good luck on the build, but remember that threads don't always work under pressure. You should probably just cement them.
I reject your reality and substitute my own.
Quack damn you.

Thats what I decided to do, after seeing how much threaded fittings cost near me.

Also, I have decided on a 2L as the PC, since I found fittings for it, and my home depot doesn't stock pressure rated pipe in sizes larger than 2".

Cool, 2L should be plenty of space, and a decent PC if you watch the pressure you put in.

Since this has become a discussion of my homemade, I have made a topic about my homemade, to keep this thread clean, and useful as valve reference.

(referring to the pictures in the buiding log)

Wow. That's pretty small. You know, you could still make it even shorter.

Yeah, but it is comfortable the way it is. My pump hand feels cramped if I shorten the top pipe.
I could move the second check valve so it is under the gun, but it is not a problem where it is, and I am worried about the hose kinking.
