Post by mysterio » Thu Feb 03, 2011 9:26 pm

Decided to try to design a PVAT based soaker.

Here's the original link

My design is here

Will this work well?

PVAT looks like a pull valve. Probably not a great idea for a water gun. I can't see your drawing (stupid IE), so maybe it is a good idea after all. I don't know.

That sounds interesting, and the drawing is feasible.

If you use that method, it would be incredibly high pressure in a ring shape until the o-ring was fully back. That might cause a drop in the overall effect, but I have no idea for sure.
I reject your reality and substitute my own.
Quack damn you.

That would not work. You would need an intake tube to shoot water.
Pessimist: These blasters hold no water
Optimist: But their small output means they last just as long
Marketing: Huge blasts of water!
user: I shot it at an angle and it went a whole ten feet!

Why would you need an intake tube? Gravity moves it from the reservoir to the pump, and from the pump to the PC.

Forgot to say, Octagons are check valves, in case anyone didnt know.

Edit: This would work perfectly with this

you need a tube from the bottom of the PC to the nozzle.

Mysterio, I have abandoned that design. I could not get the valve to seal while sliding easily. I may work on it later in the summer.

a smaller version might work as just a valve. I will try it.

With a conical nozzle, you wouldnt need that [as much] It would still be functional. And I have a great pump seal I can use
