Would a used-up fire extinquisher be anything near to a homemade? If yes, how?

Those are some pretty cool looking homemades! I like that helmet-mounted blaster on the front page!

Well, considering my dad is a firefighter, me thinks that we have a bunch all over the house. I just gotta somehow empty one with my dad's permission (virtually impossible)

It says that it can shoot more than 75 feet! That's amazing for something without CPS or rifling or anything like that.
I read the instructions before, and it says that you need an old fire extinguisher. Like from the 60s. Maybe your dad could get you one of those.
