CPS 2000 (MK2, I think) New In Box

Post by Indus85 » Wed Jul 28, 2010 2:57 am

So, when I was 12, my mom bought me a CPS 2000 that I never got around to using, because my friends weren't cool enough to want to have water fights.

I just saw it in my garage; it still has the tag and is secure in the (slightly worn) box. I went on ebay and was shocked to see used ones being sold for 250. If I post it for 300, will collectors buy it?

Thanks to anyone who can help!

$250 is a bit OTT for a used CPS 2000
The Mk1 is generally considered to be worth more.
Maybe you should leave it open to bidding, and see what price it gets.
It should get at the very least $100-$150

Well obviously you have to decide whether to sell it as auction or Buy It Now. If auction, I'd consider setting a decent starting price, maybe $50 would be good. I'd expect it to sell for a lot more than that; it's just to limit your losses should it attract less-than-usual interest. (Personally I'd be uneasy at risking losing the item for 99 cents, even if that is highly unlikely).

If Buy It Now, $300 is on the high side. Note that if you see a Buy It Now item for a high price, it hasn't sold yet and may well never sell at that price! I'd suggest searching for completed auctions and setting your price based on that.

Hi, thank you both for your swift replies! I thought it was a great idea looking at already-completed listings, but I couldn't find anyone who was selling one new in box. (Though I do see that MK2 seems to go for less. Is it less powerful?) I'll keep researching, and I'll probably post for 200 and see what happens.

There are actually 2, but one has the straps (holding it in the box) cut, although it, too, is brand-spanking-new, and is still in the box.

The saddest part about htis is that I would see the gun every summer, and begged for some poor, unsuspecting neighbor or friend to agree to a water-fight, so that I could demolish him/her. It never happened. I'm starting to feel sentimental about it!

You could keep the one with the straps cut, and colossus the pressure chamber.
Then you'd have an even more powerful one, and you could lie in wait for "some poor, unsuspecting neighbor or friend."

It all depends on whether or not you actually want to sell the gun.
Oh, and post a picture of the guns so that we can see whether it is a MK1 or MK2, because the first one can raise the price by a pretty penny.
I reject your reality and substitute my own.
Quack damn you.

A NIB CPS 2000 Mk1 would be worth a lot. $300 seems like a decent price for one of those.
