Wanted Super Soaker CPS 2000 mk 1, in usable working condition. I am not a collector and not looking to pay collector prices. I am looking for a reasonable offer. The future use of this gun is for vengeance. It will be in good hands and put to good use.

Don't we all! :)

Most of us here either don't want to give away our 2k's, or are trying to find decent priced 2k's for ourselves (that would be me! :mad :) .

An alternative for the ultimate vengance weapon, would be a homemade of some description, with the standard Air Pressure Homemade (APH) being the most simple. Such projects can be completed on a tight budget, and some require quite a lot of money to keep afloat (but then again, a CPS2000 in good condition would cost a lot anyway!).

Homemades (and especially APH's) consistently outperform the CPS2000 in all respects (including price) as long as they have been designed well. The design aspect is something that we, the members of sscentral.org and also waterwar.net, can help with quite easily.

To get started, take a look at the homemades pages on sscentral, the sscentral forums homemades section, the WaterWar forums homemades section, and the WaterWars wiki pages on homemades.

For veangence, a SCH (Super Charger Homemade) would be ideal. They are lighter, cheaper, more concealable, and if built well, equal in preformance to their larger APH brethren. Search "SEAL copper hybrid homemade" (without quotes) and it should be on of the first hits. If someone else is less lazy, they can post a linky for me. :p

I suppose it depends on how you want to get vengeance.

A short, single blast to drench them, then run away vs. a full-blown blaster with hand pump to take them on in a full-on water battle / duel?

It also how you want to get them wet.

A high output to drench the opponent (where range is not much of a worry) vs. humiliation by getting them wet, when their blaster's stream can barely even reach you?

What you build depends entirely on your specific requirements.

something to even the odds if i get outnumbered. something with good mobility and at least 30 ft range. My targets are water balloon launchers and kids with small buckets of water. possibly something with enough force to knock out a water balloon from their hands before they are within striking distance.

Sounds like you want something for a full-on water battle. A simple APH or CPH (Constant Pressure Homemade) are good places to start, especially if you have little experience with PVC or copper pipe. Have a flick through the links in my first post (the homemades page and the forum links especially) and see what takes your fancy. Most homemades should reach at least 45ft

Homemades aren't very good for battles. Unless you can make a very ergonomic one (Not many people do.), you're better off buying a Gorgon or something.

Whe he said vengeance, I thought he meant a surprise revenge attack. Sorry.

Don't get a modern SS gun.

[Raises hand slowly] I use mine in battles. :p

Yes homemades don't always have a trigger, but you can still make a reasonably ergonomic blaster without too much effort, just very careful design...

...and a bit of practice firing with a ball valve. :)

An air pressure Gorgon is an excellent blaster though, and probably the best around at the moment (although that's not saying a lot! :D ). It may be less powerful than an APH, with less range, but if all you want is around 40ft with a higher power and output than any other currently availble blasters then it should be perfect.

If you do, however, want the power of the CPS2000 (and beyond) then a homemade may be better for you.

It depends whether or not (for you) the flaws:

1. Generally more bulky and heavy than normal blasters.
2. Usually harder to fire and / or pump
3. Require carfeul design and construction

...outweigh the benefits:

1. Completey custom built for your requirements
2. Extreme power and range
3. Lots of fun (both building it, and drenching others!)

There are ways round these flaws though.

1. Move the pressure chamber and/or reservoir into a backpack design to reduce the weight on your arms.
2.a. Make a trigger mechanism or use a different (high flow) valve.
2.b. Dont use a hand pump! You could use a large pressure chamber with a quick fill connector (standard hose connectors will do) and use a footpump & schrader valve to pressurise the air if necessary.

As previously stated, it completely depends on what you think that you need, and you are just as good a judge of that as we are! (Though we are here to help if necessary :) )
