Are you sure you closed it all the way? I think something like this happened to me when I was fixing my Arctic Blast, which is why I eventually just put a ball valve on it.

I'm not sure, It seems to be all the way in the closed position.

Really sucks that these thing seems to be so troublesome, as it's one of the few Hasbro era SS that I like.

Update:

Well I fixed the trigger, works beautifully now. Drilled a small hole and put a small screw in to secure the spring.

The problem is there's still an air leak somewhere, i think coming from the FF nozzle, but I can't find where it's coming from. Can those nozzles be taken apart? It looks glued together...

Can you power up the PC with water at all? Because water squirting out of the nozzle randomly would be a good indicator of a leaky valve, which is the problem my MD5k had that I mentioned earlier. However, I never tested for air leaks though I assume that the air would also leak. Most valves cannot be disassembled, but you may be able to get to the FF's valves by removing the screws and somehow cutting it apart from the glue that holds it together.

That said, I've yet to find out exactly how ball valves seal. The fact that SS valves are getting leaking problems indicates some poor design. I'll have to look into it; into the MD5k valve leak but most likely I'll just cut it out and replace it. (if I care enough about the gun to bother doing all that)

Update #2. Tested it with water, it did hold pressure, and I found the leak. It's coming from the point where the valve arm screwed onto. If I take the pressure off of it by removing the trigger spring, it'll stay closed, but as soon as pressure/tension is applied ti it, it leaks. I don't know how to fix it.

What I suspect happened is it developed this leak first, which then got on the screws and both triggers springs, causing them to rust, and one of them to fail.

It does work now at least, my trigger repair works excellently. And it will build pressure and fire just fine.

I just wish I could stop the leak.

Try using epoxy or a thick layering of electric tape on and around the leak.

The leak is coming from inside the pivot though, if I epoxy it I won't be able to open or close the valve.

Oh... I have no idea what to do. You could try to take apart the pivot and repair only the crack with epoxy, but otherwise you might just want to contain the leak from rusting the spring again.

That area...there is no crack that I can see. it just leaks out when tension is applied to the arm. If the spring isn't connected it won't leak. I tried fiddling with it, but even if I touch it lightly with my finger it will leak.

Where exactly is the leak coming from? If it is coming out of that area then there is definately some kind of crack or chip or loose valve nearby. That will help to isolate the problem, and then you can see what you will need to repair it. You might need an o-ring to seal the area, or to bypass that valve entirely and just use an actual ball valve for the trigger.

There looks like plastic o-rings in there. I pulled one out (there's at least two). Is it supposed to be flexible rubber? So so then maybe that's the problem.

I did not see any cracks.

I've updated the OP (original post) with information on lubrication, which should help tremendously on valve/mechanisms that are stubborn and won't shut (or even open) correctly. See if lubricating the FF's riot blast valve solves the problem. Remember to disassemble the Max-D mech first so you can roll the valve around to spread the lube. See OP for more details.

Lubrication of the valve also helps a ton for BBT's water guns.
