Okay, a question on what I should do. Should I spend my money on an xbox now (for the soul purpose of getting Halo 2when it comes out) or wait until mid 2005 for the xbox 2 to come out and pray that a Halo 3 comes out?

I think there is a Halo 3 coming out. But I bet they would put Halo 3 on Xbox and Xbox 2, Because they are both microsoft systems. But if they were smart they would only put Halo 3 on xbox 2 for a few reasons.

1. People would have to buy Xbox 2 to play Halo 3 so they could make more money.

2. They may need better grapichs for Halo 3 if there is one.

It could be backwards-compatible; you could play X-box games on the XB2, but not vice versa.

I would wait until XB2 came out. If Halo 3 is for Xbox, you can get that, plus a cheap Xbox.

I have thought of the backwards compatibilities. If that were to happen like the ps2 then I would be one happy camper. Oh, and from what I heard, Halo 3 will be out in 2007ish.

You aint getting any younger. Buy it, and when the system and or other games come out, save up and buy those if you want to. There is no gaurentee of backwards compatability. Just look at stupid nintendo.

I think you should buy it now. Are you really willing to wait over a year for a game?

Well, halo2 is coming out about now, and it really sound great. Are you really going to wait for a game which release date you Don't know. It may turn up 2 to 3 years later than the release date, like doom3 and duke nukem.

I am almost thinking about selling my gamecube. Not much of a loss, just a bunch of old outdated or about to be outdated games and accesories. I will however keep my good memory chip that holds 220 blocks. It can hold all of my data with plenty of extra room. That way I will still have my stats when I go to a friends house to play some of his games on my chip . I have -
Lord of the rings, return of the king completed single/multiplayer mode
madden 04 3 franchises in 10th year, 2 custom teams, 1 custom playbook
simpsons roadrage, completed
mario party 4 , completed with yoshi
luigi's mansion, completed, extra mansion
smash bros melee, completed with every character in all 3 modes, all trophys
need 4 speed underground, 7 completed profiles
waverace blue storm - completed in 1st place
mario kart double dash, beat in 7 hours, beat bonus disk's games
gameboy player, disc for it
4 controlers- original, wireless, mad catz, superpad
cd organizer for gamecube

I am sure I can get a few bucks for it considering I put 650 - 700 usd into it.

If you have a hardcore desire to play halo 2, then get it. If you can afford to wait, Pick up an Xbox2 later along with both copies. I would assume to make money, Microsoft would make the Xbox2 compatible with Xbox Games.

edit- should also be cheaper in the future, save money!

I am sure I can wait. Heck, I got my gamecube when I went into middle school and believe me, not having what everyone I knew had for long periods of time sucked but I made it through. I think I can get some money if I sell useless stuff I have such as a rubber band gatlin gun and all of my gameboy things (I have a bunch of games but I sold my gameboy). I have friends with multiple systems and one of them might even let me use one of his in my systemless future until the xbox 2 comes out.

I got my original Playstation in 1st grade... with my own money. I bought my PS2, once again with my own money, a couple years ago. Here's my (albeit small) mem card list:

SOCOM II: U.S. Navy SEALS - Completed
Kingdom Hearts - Completed

There ya go folks, I'm not much of a console gamer. Oh plus saves on PS1 memory cards for my 25+ PSOne games.
"I used to care, but now I take a pill for that."

You can pretty much ignore the times on that, I rarely ever have Xfire on when I play. I should, though.

Get a nice gaming comp. Wait for the ports to come out.

I have done a lot of researching and now quite a lot of websites are saying the the xbox 2 will be out as soon as June 5th. Atleast it might not be an unbearable wait. :)

Err... wouldn't XBox games be compatible with XBox 2? E.G., you could play Halo 2 on XBox 2?
Whatever music you listen to probably sucks.
