I checked to see how many cumulative forum posts there were. There were about 19,098. Then I logged out. I logged back in a second later and checked the forum posts again. Somehow there were [at the time of this post] 19,130 posts. How? 32 posts could not have possibly been made within a timespan of about 5 secs. So what happened?

<EDIT> I may be completely wrong and miscounted the first time, but the 19131 posts caught my eye as weird. The post count before I logged out was lower than that by at least 20 posts.

I just recently did a recount of the forum posts (New Admin CP feature) and Spinner noted that we lost a few posts by doing that. However, this might be a forum glitch and I'm doing another recount.

Before recount: 19140 posts

After recount: 19106 posts

Looks like a forum glitch - we really need to buy an IPB 2.0 license to get newer versions and support.

Perhaps they decided to throw a curveball into the trial version? Oh well, we'll just have to make sure we have 20,020 by December 31 :Hey, that's funny.:

I'm looking at pricing on IPB, and I don't like what I see. $69.95 for a one-year license and $199 for a lifetime license. Looks like we may need to start advertising that donations page again. Perhaps a Paypal icon on one of the sidebars?

I think the post count just jumped again-it's right now at 19, 179, I thought it was still around 19, 140 something?

We'll have to regularly do recounts then.

I've looked at them before, and if I was to get one it would be a lifetime license because I do plan on having SSCentral for more than the next 2 years (which is how long the yearly pay will be cheaper).

I'll get to adding one. I was considering using profit from my web design business to upgrade these forums first however. That business however, is yet to begin operation.

The post count really jumped the gun today. So just ignore it, it's gotten really off recently.

I counted up what I could and only got this: 17442 posts. But I Don't have the moderator forum. And I'm sure there is way more posts than that. But I don't think we have as many as we do now. Something is foul in the air. I have a suspicion someone might be editing the post count. <_<

I counted it up and calculated it as 19227 just now, which is still a few posts off. Let's see if a recount will do the job.

EDIT: Just done a recount, it's now at 19202! That's 26 posts off. <_<

I declare the whole 20K goal ABSOLUTELY VOID if the forum post count has been messed with. It may just be this trial v 2.0 board that's been messing up the post count. While I don't think that it is possible that someone could edit such a thing, I'm not totally convinced that it's not possibe. I'm tired and sick of recent fraud, those of you who this affects know EXACTLY what I'm talking about. Right now the forum post count looks ok, but because of all these "recent events" you've gotten me thinking about everything that looks "off." The forum post count may have been edited so only a few false post numbers have been added, and therefore doesn't look suspicious at the moment. I would never have been forced to think this way if the trust hadn't been broken.

I very highly doubt that any actual tampering has been done to the total post count. 4 people have access to the Admin CP, and 4 also have access to the CPanel. They are as follows: Me, Neo, Spinner and Freakymist. Even so, from what I know the only way to actually edit that number is by editing the MySQL directly.

I just recounted the forum's post and they decreased zero. So there is no tampering, I am very sure this is just a forum glitch. We are planning on buying a lifetime license, so until then nothing can be done aside from the occasional recount.

I have two thoughts about this.

1. The boards at Bungie forums is pretty bad all the pages are always screwed up, like 5 threads on the first page, 20 on the 2nd page, and like 7 on the 3rd page. Similar to the post, all screwed up.

2. Maybe sniper has gotten into the system with all his hacking gear and junk and has played with the post.

But this will remain a mystery till we find out.

I highly doubt sniper has anything to do with this. For a start, he wouldn't be able to get into the MySQL. Secondly, if he had somehow managed to do so, he would reduce not increase the post count, and play about with masses of other things like changing Admins and so on.

This looks simply like a Invision bug, no more.

EDIT: Post 800! :D
