Super Soaker Tornado Strike

Hello,

I'm trying to modify a super soaker tornado strike to shoot 50 ft without the spiral bit.
I was just wondering what would be better: Air Pressure (AP) or a CPS made out of balloons.

Here's an internal picture:

Thanks, and when I've finished I'll create a how to guide.

Hello,

The SS Tornado Strike is a piston-based blaster. This means that with a long enough draw on the pump, and a suitable nozzle, you should be able to reach 50 ft. easily as long as you have enough water to feed the pump. The limiting factor here is the water "clip" which does not hold enough water to accomplish what I have just described.

Alternatively you can modify the soaker to build up pressure (either via air or elastic tension as you have outlined). However, to do so, you will need to construct some sort of trigger apparatus. Something as simply as a ball valve could accomplish this task.

In either case, disabling the rotating nozzle is quite easy: simply remove one or both of the gears visible in the included photograph.

Soak On!

50 feet won't be a problem, but converting it to a CPS or AP gun is one of the hardest modifications this side of the milky way. I would just remove the gears as wetmonkey said, and if that doesn't remove the spiral try bypassing the rotating bit (or supergluing it in place :D )

Thanks, everyone for their help.

I will post the How To up if anyone needs it. But it doesn't sound like a mod that really needs a How To anymore

PS: The water clip won't be a problem because I rigged up to a 2.7 l Max Infusion Back Pack

EDIT: You can see how I did it here: http://forums.sscentral.org/t6451/#post54697

And Now...

I present to you the biggest water waster I've ever had
It takes 46 pumps to get rid of all of my water in my 2.7l back pack

It's now 45 feet to the last drop.
I centered out the nozzles as well (clamps and metal ties).
Brilliant mod :)

WetMonkey442. What pictures do you want...

Do you think you can redirect the pump outlet to a tee in the main body? Then on the rear outlet of the tee attach a CPS PC (White). Then on the other side attach a ball valve (yellow), a laminator (blue) just to take up space, and then a nozzle (green). Then you could attach a trigger wire and assembly and ditch the whole barrel assembly. Kinda like this:

Seem's do-able. I just need a CPS (that goes further then it does now) and valve.

PS: I'm not to keen on pumping :)

EDIT: Here's a rough photoshop edit of how it looks (couldn't be bothered to open it up again):

Compare it to the top pic and you's see I got rid of the purple box and gears (Not much editing they just come right of :) ).

Should have put this topic in the general section
