Maybe you should have one group of awards for minor/not widely known sites and one for widely known sites. Like major and minor league site awards. I can see it now: (insert site) has won the 2004 sscentral major league stie award for tech category. Or something like that.

Now that I look back at it it's pretty corny.

hehehe nice award line-up. Minor and Major leagues isn't a bad idea. :D

(Insert site here) has won 90th place in the minor league.... and so on :P

Part of the reason I would host site awards is to give recognition to less popular sites that are just starting off. Larger sites have recognition and their own merits. I would not want to offer awards to already well-established sites. There aren't too many, and these awards being hosted by SSCentral, it is likely that they will be biased towards SSCentral. That is not fair to other larger site owners.

If you want them to be recognized, maybe you should put a 'to this site' banner right across your homepage <_< , or you could have a 'recently awarded sites section on the website.

Umm? If I wanted them to be recognized, I'd have website awards and put a page about the winners on the site. I believe that was the point of this thread.

So how are the sites going to be picked? Are we going to have a panel of judges, or are we going to have everyone who wants to participate vote?

Enough with the talk, when are these awards actually going to take place? I also think that there aren't too many soaking-related sites to do this anyway.

A panel of judges would make this far more complicated than is necessary. I have to leave in a bit, Spinner please make the topics for nominations. B)

These awards could happen right away! ;)

As for the lack of sites... we'll just work around it for the time being. This year I do hope to see more activity. The last few years with the absence of CPS have been, to put it honestly, bland and less active.

Will do in just a moment. I've taken the liberty of creating a new sub-forum for this subject; we can lock it once they've all been awarded.

You guys wait a week or so for when I get rid of the "happy holidays" thing on my site...just wait...

But would a WBL site be eligible? Because my site is no soaker site. Oh and by the way in case anyone cares, I'm going to take my site down summer 2006. But no one cares so oh well.

I suppose soakthis.com might be eligible for the Tech category.

(Double post with time delay)

If no other nominations are made within the next three days, voting should then start for categories which need it.

If there are any categories with only one candidate, see if you can nominate another one!
