Working for a large-scale toy company, he would travel around the country during the summer participating in large scale elimination tournaments in order to promote certain products. During the off-season he would work in marketing and design, one of several members of a small team that would set-up and plan tournaments, fundraisers, and promotional events for the following summer. He declined the position politely, opting instead to open up a graphic design and machine shop by the beach. Along with some friends and his fiancee, he spends his time building and selling potato cannons, milling custom parts, and waxing his surfboard. His CPS 3200 and a few photographs stuffed in an envelope are the only remnants of his tremendous water warfare history.

Name: Damien
Nicknames: DX, Duxburian (older)
Gender: Male
Age: 24
Height: 5' 10"
Weight: 155 lbs
Appearance/Clothing: Camo jacket, black tee, worn jeans, running shoes, heavily and distinctively battle scarred, rugged
Physical Characteristics: Not a particularly imposing figure by height or strength at first glance, but has explosive power in short bursts
Personality: Aggressive, tactical, intelligent, independent, dedicated, loyal

Secondary/Backup: CPS 12K (105 balloons, super heavily reinforced)
Sidearm: XP 215 (Nozzle drilled a bit)
Other Weapons: Douchenator (mobile version), Max-D 5000 (reservoir expanded, for field-filling), lacrosse stick, also has an extensive modded/homemade arsenal cached in small, hidden, safe areas
Gear: Backpack, extra water, long-range radio, cash, packs of water balloons, several cans for filled balloons, pumps, tool kit, survival kit, tactical kit (includes maps, charts, IDs, picks, keys, etc.)
Has access to: Any vehicle or vessel that he can steal/start, free PVC from the pipe manufacturing company he part owns, global network of friends who can provide armaments, supplies, shelter, and/or advice.
Player History: Damien has fought in 10 previous RPs under other names, but has always stuck to the "DX" radio callsign. Dropped his previous name of "Drake" while on the run after the destruction of his Maritime Militia by a massive coalition of past enemy players and teams. A routine general meeting of the team was ambushed by an incredible amount of enemies, resulting in the capture of every militia member except Damien himself, who managed to jump out of a window into the adjacent river below and caught a ride out of the area on a local fishing boat. While the newer members were turned to other teams, the hardcore members resisted all attempts at assimilation or interrogation. A few escaped and re-connected with Damien, but it was agreed that the militia would not be reconstituted. Rather, they would form a shadowy network lacking conventional territory and leaders to hit.

But, this did not stop enemies from launching a huge manhunt for Damien, their #1 foe. By his 23rd birthday, Damien was the most hunted water warrior in the world. However, a history of name-switching helped trick different enemies into thinking they were going after different people, allowing him to slip in and out of various enemy territories with relative ease. With the help of ex-militia and friends, he was able to counterattack vastly greater forces, focusing on hitting their funding and supply sources. These strikes were also aided by captured militia who appeared to finally give into team assimilation, but essentially acted as spies. The mounting logistical damage forced enemies to cancel the campaign, begrudgingly allowing Damien and friends to roam more freely.

However, there was no total truce. Damien continued his previous transient lifestyle (no street address, no cell phone, no permanent vehicle), moving between safe locations and caching supplies stolen from enemies in all manner of municipalities. While he had lost his physical empire, Damien now ruled over an information empire. As time passed, enemies started to fight amongst themselves again. Smaller/newer teams began to commission Damien to train and arm them, services which could be obtained at very competitive prices. Intel on major teams came at a premium, due to the considerable risk of gathering it. Enemies caught on eventually and kept a closer watch on their ex-militia members. At the time of his 24th birthday, Damien was trying to keep a lower profile in water warfare politics and fall off the radar a bit.

INTRODUCTION

Okay, here is the background information for the Summer 2011 RP. This war will take place on the fictional island nation of Citsale (pronounced like Sicily). This is a relatively large island, with many cities, forests, beaches, and mountain ranges. There will be opportunities for both urban and rural fighting. The RP will culminate in a large showdown inside of a football stadium.

Here are some guidelines for the RP: This will be a realistic game. Water guns will not hurt people, and people will not have access to equipment that can physically harm anyone. The goal is elimination, not destruction, and I suggest that we work together against the common enemy(s), detailed below. As the story progresses we can outline more detailed versions of places and locations, but for now use your imagination to fill in the gaps.

You may create/control one secondary character, however there is a caveat: this character cannot directly take part in the fighting. He/she can help you, guide you, or provide you with information, but is not allowed to physically shoot a water gun at anyone. for example, if you are in a car shooting out the window, your secondary character can drive and you can shoot but not vice versa.

Another important restriction: You can not post more than once consecutively. Each post should be more than 100 words and less than 1000 words.

HISTORY

Citsale is a large island nation located 200 km off the Western coast of South America. It is a continental island with a volcanic peninsula. Its area is 42,000 miles^2 (108,000 km^2), making it slightly larger than Iceland. It features a large bifurcated mountain range down the center. The highest elevation is 12,000 ft (3600m). The island ecology is diverse; ranging from large deciduous forests on the Southeastern, windward side of the island, to deep arboreal coniferous forests in the center and eastern edges. The island features a large, mostly arid grassland to the north. The volcanic peninsula (St. John's Island) lies directly to the east and is connected by a narrow land bridge. Once entirely connected to the island, this peninsula was formed twenty thousand years ago during the eruption of a now dormant volcano.

The island was first colonized by Spanish explorers during the 1600s who were mapping the Western edge of South America. There are no indigenous people known to this island, most likely due to the extremely strong currents that run directly to the West. The Spanish explorers saw the vast agricultural potential of the fertile grasslands in the north, but were unable to establish a large presence due to the mountainous geography. While the land to the North was agriculturally promising, there are no suitable bays or harbors on the Northern Shore. The Southern Shore, on the other hand, is littered with many inlets and suitable locations for docking, but is cut off from the North by the central mountain range.

It was not until the late 1800s when a group of German business men invested a small fortune in constructing a series of rail lines through the mountains, bringing life into the previously isolated Northern frontier. The Germans used the island as a refuge from taxation and the increasingly hostile economy of early 20th century Germany. When war broke out in Europe, this island became a refuge for many European industries to move their assets to. It became known as the Cayman Islands of the Pacific. Prominent banking and manufacturing families from Great Britain, Spain, France, Germany, and Russia moved their assets to this island, attracted by its pleasant climate, warm beaches, and lack of governmental oversight.

In recent years industry and manufacturing has all but vanished from this island as the cost of transportation has become prohibitive. However, the island is now home to a large number of internet and financial corporations which enjoy freedom from taxes and governmental oversight. The island is split into 5 districts, with a small coalition government existing to maintain roads and utilities. A small police force also exists, but as the majority of the population are tourists and not full-time residents, criminals are often extradited rather than prosecuted on the island. Nevertheless, the island is notorious for being home to career criminals, organized crime families on vacation, and subsidized terrorists or political enemies.

The largest city is Ciudad de Citsale, which lies on the Southeastern coast. It is located on the mouth of the Rio de Vino, which makes it a prominent location for trade and transport. It is also the hub of the island rail-system. Ciudad de Citsale is home to 120,000 full-time residents, a number which can swell to 300,000 during the tourist season. Ciudad de Citsale is also home to the only international airport on the island. Several other large cities are notable:

Oceanside (pop, 75,000): Capitol of District 2, home to a large number of beach side resorts, lagoons, and small off-shore islands. The hub of tourism during the winter months. Home to a regional airport. Located on the Southwestern coast. Accessible by Highway 1.

Essex (pop, 44,000): Capitol of District 3, home to the island's largest fishing fleet and now extinct whaling industry. Located on the Western coast. Accessible by Highway 1.

Aveneg (pop, 53,000): Capitol of District 4, lies at 5,000 ft (1,500m) in the center of the island's mountain range. A center of precision engineering and headquarters for foreign manufacturing. Accessible only by train during the summer, by road and train during the winter.

Dargninel (pop 51,000): Capitol of District 5, center of agriculture on the island. Home to a regional airport. Located on the Northern coast. Accessible by Highway 1.

BACKGROUND

The year is 2012. The Brazilian toy manufacturer Maxx-Brand keeps a large office in downtown Ciudad de Citsale. They are the parent company to a variety of toy brands including Maxx-Soak, Maxx-Foam, and Maxx-Laser. The director of marketing for Maxx-Brand is Henri Patel. He has proposed a large-scale Assassins game take place on the island during the peak of the tourism season during the first week of January. The grand prize is a two-week stay at a luxury resort/casino in District 2, the full-line of Maxx-Brand summer products (including the much anticipated Avenger Mk.IV), and a 50,000USD cash prize. The company has been marketing this game for 6-months, with a series of promotional events in Europe and America during their summer months. Maxx-Brand has already received over 5,000 registrations, and most hotels in Ciudad de Citsale are already booked full. Maxx-Brand has specified the rules as follows:

The entire island is fair game. Whoever remains alive at the end of the first week is required to attend an all-out elimination in Maxx-Brand field, a large football (soccer) stadium in downtown.
For a kill to count, the player must be hit with a fist-sized amount of water.
Disputes, violence, or disruptions of the peace will be met with disqualifications for all involved.

Many people are excited about this contest, and are already forming teams and alliances. The largest groups include:

St. Mary's Hospital: Several hundred hospital staff workers have registered for this event. They plan on using the money to fund a new children's medicine wing.
Carmelo Family: About one hundred teenagers have decided to work together during this event. They represent roughly twenty families from the Southern coast of District 2, but all have ties to the Carmelo crime family which owns several vacation estates on the island. (These are bad guys).
Wundertoys: A competing toy company has registered several hundred employees to try and create as much chaos as possible, and steal the limelight away from Maxx-Brand with their own products. (These are bad guys).

Super Soaker and Water Warrior brand water guns are commonly found on the island, but due to costs of transportation are much more expensive than the similar quality Maxx-Brand and Wundertoys models. Availability for Super Soaker and Water Warrior brand water guns are limited to the 2011 lineup. The following is a list of Maxx-Brand and Wundertoys water guns that are available, along with their pricing in USD.

Maxx-Brand
Maxx-Power: This lineup contains elastic soakers with minimalist styling.
Avenger Mk.IV: The much-anticipated sequel to the most powerful water gun designed by Maxx-Brand. It is similar in size and power to a CPS 1500, and is popular among modders and hardcore enthusiasts due to its no-nonsense design and ease of repair. ($34.99).
Avenger Mk.III: These models from last summer can still be found. While not as powerful as the Mk.IV, they feature a larger tank and PC for increased shot time. Notable for the bright yellow coloring. ($25.99).
H20Zooka: A shameless copy of the Super Soaker Splashzooka.
Maxx-Soak: This lineup contains less powerful air-pressure soakers marketed for a younger audience
Vector: A single PC air pressure blaster, with sizing similar to a MD 6000. (19.99)
Rampage: A pressurized reservoir blaster, similar to an XP 240 in size and power (14.99)

Wundertoys
Total Soakage: A line-up of military-style blasters with an emphasis on modular accessories. Often less powerful than Maxx-Brand but has a cult following due to its long history.
TS 2000: A large air pressure blaster with incredible shot time. Small nozzle. $29.99)
TS 2100: A medium air pressure blaster with removable water balloon filling attachment. ($24.99)
TS 1000: A small air pressure blaster similar in size and function to a MI Defender. ($14.99)
TS X11: A mysterious prototype that uses elastic technology. Speculated online that it is designed to undercut the Maxx-Brand market share for large and powerful blasters. Not for sale.

I will post up a map of the island when time permits, but for now simply imagine it as a circle, with 4 cities at the Western, Northern, Southeaster, and Southwestern points, and one city in the middle. A single highway encircles the island, with multiple rail lines running through the center. If you are not already on the island you must arrive there via boat or plane.

Quick question, were we going to be part of teams or separate groups? Oh, and also, is there going to be a budget for each team? (Hence the prices)

The RP is not very defined: we will all start out individually. Alliances, clans, teams, can all develop if we choose. The prices are just to give you a sense for what you could or could not feasibly afford. It's up to the individual players to decide how realistic they want to make their own situations.

Ok, here I go,
Zane and Josh arrived on the lands of Citsale. They travelled to the Event store to see what kind of stock they had. They were disappointed. They saw a Wundertoys member and decided to challenge them 1 on 1. Zane had SS High Tide whereas they had a TS 1000.
They unleashed a power shot but Zane dodged and immediately sent a powerful shot back. The Wundertoys staff member surrendered, and exclaimed " How did he do that? Such a weak blaster has defeated me! I must inform the heads."
Zane simply replied " You may have power, but you have all of the skill of a dead sheep."
With that, he left the grounds of the store and decided to head to Area 2.
