Huge Block Party Soakfest Tomorrow

Post by martianshark » Sat Jul 03, 2010 5:29 pm

There's going to be a big water fight on our street on the 4th of July. I've been finding my water guns, fixing my APH, filling water ballons, etc. to get ready. The other team mostly has a lot of water balloons, and good arms to throw them. They also have a couple fire extinquisher-based homemades. Our side has a CPS 1200, a couple random guns, and my guns.

This is sort of a "News" kind of thread, not a question thread or anything. If you have any suggestions for anything I should do to be prepared, you can post them here.

Here's a list of what I've done:

1. Filled balloons
2. Fixed APH
3. Got water guns together
4. Lubricated Shark's pump
5. Found large Rubbermaid box lids, washed them, and made straps out of duct tape for them
6. Put water fight clothes on

I've used sleds as shields as well as bubble wrap. They're trickier to carry but won't get damaged by the WB's.

Good idea.

I've fixed up my APH. This is what it looks like now:

Hey martianshark, the picture doesn't appear at all.

And regarding getting ready, maybe you could stash some 2L bottles for refills.
I reject your reality and substitute my own.
Quack damn you.

I know. It was messing up and it didn't let me upload anything or edit my post.

How do you hold your homemades? Do you hold them the same as with regular water guns with triggers? I ask because you keep your ball valve to the right of the blaster instead of to the left and I'm curious as to what most people prefer.

Well it's sort of hard to explain... I hold my left hand around the second check valve like the trigger was there, and I put the back of it into my shoulder like a stock, although sometimes I have my arm over the reservoir. Then I use my right hand to either pump it or turn the valve.

The fight was pretty fun. There were all kinds of blasters and water balloons and hoses and stuff. Then the bottle rocketed off in the middle of the battle and I had to pick up another gun. Then somehow half of our team rebelled against us and it turned into a battle/siege sort of thing. Then the other side claimed they won even though they were the first ones to give up and go away, which was the only bad part about it.

By the way, during the siege, out of all my water guns, my Shark was the most effective against the CPS 1200. What the heck is with that?

Which shoulder do you use? I'm guessing the left shoulder as that would be more confortable, thus it would be the same as how I hold homemades except left-handed.
