I would run one of those Linux/Windows combo OSes like Lindows or something like that... but I'm too cheap to buy it.

Current OS is the much hated WinME (dang them...).

2000 Pro has weird little quirks that I hate. But it is the best version of Windows. I hear Mac OS X is good. I've never used it. Has anyone here used it?

let see
on my good comp I have 2000 pro.... I wanna get the server edition or big server... maybe sever2003 when it comes out... we'll c what I can get form freinds for free =P
on my other comp I have 98se... its better than some, worse than ohters... I just needed a dos based system to run some older games and stuff....
most the rest of our comps have 2000... I think we only have one other with 98... but thats my sisters, and its not on my network so I really Don't care about it.
as for versions of windows what the Hasbro HQ is 98me?
the dos based ones are 95, 98, 98 Second Edition (98se), and ME. so I really Don't see where you get 98me form?
=D
the best version to date in my oppinion is 2000
XP is too much for the stupid people who care what their computer case looks like, ME is jsut 98 made worse, 98 is ok... too many bugs, 98se is better lots of bugs fixed... still lots =P, NT4.0 is good, but old and not supported with lotta newer stuff anything older than 4.0 is not worht useing... there you really got a lotta bugs =P (more than what you'de expect form windows)
so yeah... windows is ok... kinda buggy...but actualy a lotta soft ware is. "If builders built buildings the way programmers built programs, then the first woodpecker that came along would destroy civilization."

so yeah... lotta people clame the Mac OS is so much better. all I have to say is that their pritty full of $h!t. so yeah... no OS is perfect, far form it... but go check out windows RG http://www.deanliou.com/WinRG/ run the "demo" and what ever OS you have now I garentee you appreciate it a lot more after =P
so yeah =D

I disagree. While there are some things I don't like about MacOS, I think that it's much more user friendly and "hacker" friendly. ResEdit is the best. Get it if you have a Mac but don't have it.
