I really should make the backpack mod better... yes the trash bag is on the inside. I'm making a new backpack out of PVC too, I just need to get it glued. I did not weld the rod at all, I only cut it shorter, make it smoother around the edges with a file and put the seal on it. It was about 3 feet long when I bought it, I have enough left over after 3 homemades and 2 rods to make one more.

On the issue of the backpack, I have tons of 3inch PVC left over, and another pressure chamber already made up (but without the reducers just the encap) I am thinking, I I create two or maybe even three of these and slap them together, and then connect all of them with a Y splitter hose leading into one hose, that could be a pretty efficient backpack.

On the pump- I looked at Home Depot and Lowes and could not find the aluminum rod. <_<

That's pretty much what I'm doing to make my new backpack. The only problem is that I used all of Lowes's reducers and other things, and I have to improvise now or wait for them to restock (I'm waiting). All I know is that it'll be done eventually.

I got both of my alluminum rods from Home Depot, but I also knew where they were in Lowes. Ask someone in either store where they keep the metal dowels and they should help you.

Thnaks, I'll look into that this weekend. So far, I ahve no nozzles, but the riot blast is still awesome. The only problem is that the seal between the end cap and the PVC that makes up the pressure chmaber keeps leaking. No matter hoe much more glue and primer I put on, it still bubbles and fizzes when I reach a certain level of pressure.

Uhh, you're only supposed to put the primer on once. That's why it's called primer.

Here is what mine looks like:

So are you saying that I can apply the PVC cement over more PVC cement?

The same thing happened to me on my homemade. It was in a completely different cercomstance. My CPS homemade was poorly designed, even though it works great. It pretty much uses PR to shoot water into the PC. This ment that the reserve was pressurized. That's where the leak was. I tried lots of extra glue, and even some different types. The best thing to do is to cut off the cap you have now, and put on a new one. When you glue this one, twist the cap as you put it on, that will coat the entire thing with glue just to make sure. You will lose a little shot time, just as I lost capacity, but it is really all you can do.

EDIT: I didn't see this seconed page. Wow, that thing is ugly. I shouldn't be talking, mine can't even be held like a gun. At least it is a first technology. Probably never used for a reason.
Hey, where is your water source? (backpack/reserve?)

Blaze, plastic welder isn't for PVC dammit! PVC cement literally melts the PVC together. I had a small leak in my homemade in the front most pressure chamber, and after a few attempts with the PVC cement it was sealed perfectly. It's best to use what was meant for PVC on PVC, especially when it works just fine and he has a ton already.

Dry the spot with a paper towel before glueing. And then apply it to the spots where the leak is occuring. I also tried using a pocket knife to cut open the glue a bit, letting the PVC cement go in deeper.

On my second homemade of this variety I had more experience so there was no leaks! B)

Btw, wetmonkey, can I use that pic and the one of your 15000 for the SSC gallery I'm gathering pics for? If you've got anything else that would be cool too. I think I've got around 40 pics now.

Thanks, I'll try that.

Sure, you can use the pics. I would be honored.

EDIT: I could get a better pic of it now thatb it is fully completed (without a backpack).

Sure, that would be great. If you could upload it with a post at SSC that would be good too because I think you're photo album site thing resizes the photos.

How do I do that? And does it matter wether it's resized or not?

It's below the post icons. I'd like the photo better if it wasn't resized because then it shows more of the gun and such. Do whatever you find more convenient.

It won't let me upload the pic. Just use the one I have already given out. Besides, my image host does not make the image smaller, but rather bigger. So you are not missing any details.
