UserID: 146 | Do you think that a 1700 with a scope would make a ok sniper? |

UserID: 1 | Remember to read the board guidlines, they recomended checking out the site before posting. http://www.sscentral.net/tactics/sniper.php If you did, you would have found that, where he is using a CPS 1700 as a sniper gun. That answers your question.

UserID: 115 | Hey, that's funny. why would you equip a scope on a WATER GUN! in my opinion its a waste of money. The range on the gun won't be far enough to utilise the potential of the scope. if your gun is very modified, then maybe go to walmart and buy a $30 red dot scope. if not, at most install iron sights (three posts of plastic, use epoxy).

UserID: 75 | You Don't have to spend any money on one. I used a plastic toy telescope for mine that was in an astrology set I got years ago. I realized it would make a great sniper scope. Also the range could be long enough depending on the conditions you are sniping in and what you are trying to do. Not everyone snipes from like 40 or 50 ft away.

UserID: 83 | I once got some toy binoculars and I had an idea, cut one in half (so you only have one side), then draw an X with a SMALL sharpie.

UserID: 1 | ^ I've actually done that with some toy binoculars. The best scope for soakers (unless you want to be GnG), IMO is a piece of 1/2" ID PVC pipe that is 6-9 inches long. That works very good as a scope/sight, and those who make homemades probably have a ton lying around already. Cheap and effective!

UserID: 146 | I was wondering, If I'm using my 1700 for a sniper job do I really need a back up it would just slow me down running? If you think I do could you mention what back up I should use? Thanks. (I think I might use a Storm for a back up.) |

UserID: 69 | If you want a real long-range sniper gun, maybe you should be considering an xp instead. |

UserID: 75 | if I had to use an xp it would be the 310. Otherwise, I would k-mod a CPS or figure out how to make a long range homemade.

UserID: 1 | This topic should be merged with the other one about the 1700 sniper because they are related. If you make a belt clip and put it on your pants or whatever it shouldn't slow you down if it stays on. See the mods section for more info about the belt clip.

UserID: 94 | AHHhhhhh my first post back on. Thanks to everyone who let me back. On to the subject. I would reccomend a backup as the 1700 will drain its shot fairly quick. Everyone needs a "give up and run for it" weapon. Something that is small enough that it can comfortably be carried in one hand. A great example would be an XP 270. Or you could go for something really small like a Max-D 2000. Thats what I have. |

UserID: 75 | This reminds me that my 2100 topic and Hooligan's 2100 topic should also be merged.

UserID: 75 | maybe. Too small and the stream breaks up. If you leave the nozzle alone after k-modding the range is fine. [at]All: Be careful about any advice you receive about changing the size of your nozzles or you could screw up a nice soaker. [*Cough* Bluesmudges advice on nozzle drilling *cough*]
