I've noticed a few sites use some of our images, or link directly to them. I try to tell the webmasters of such sites to remove the images, but eventually I'll have to do that to many many sites. I've decided to put a watermark on each image, the 88x31 banner in a corner.

Another thing I've noticed is that a few sites also copy our articles. I don't know what to do about that other than change the disclaimer to cover copying stuff more (it includes stuff about copying articles, not images, and isn't very strict at all). Does anyone have any ideas to prevent article copying?

Without a thousand pieces of useless javascript, sorry, no. You COULD start a anti-leeching/imagedirectlinking thing....

I could turn on the thing in the CPanel that prevents hotlinking, but then I couldn't hot link myself. Maybe it could work only on certain sites? I'll check it out.

Well, you'd have to work with SSC's hundreds of images if you want to take on the job. I can do it myself, I do the site's images and I was planning on reworking the site quite a bit anyway, so while I'm at that I could do the images. That does mean this change won't be in effect for a few months unless I do it earlier.

Yay, I'm back! :Hey, that's funny.:
You could just to a ctrl-C on the water mark and go through each image, copying it in, and lowering the opacity of the watermark. Doesn't seem like it would take more than half an hour. Of course I don't know how web editing works. I know very little about code.

You should always click on the first SSCentral when you see this:

SSCentral SSCentral SSC Feedback

That will make sure you don't just see that one section of the forums.

Doom, I only have that image on my team's website to link to SSC. If you want me to remove it, I will do it asap.

You mean our logo? That is fine, in fact I tell people to use that on the Links page. I mean people using images from reviews and other articles. Some don't even take the time to save them to disk, they just link directly to them, helping them and taking up our bandwith.
