Has anybody? Is it rare? Should I be scared of it?

I was a bit wary of eBay at first, and at first I didn't want to buy used soakers, but I'm more relaxed now. As always, check a seller's rating before you bid. B)

This is my 200th post.

I just bought an SC 400 off ebay. It took 3 weeks to ship, I don't know why. But at least I got it. Yeah, if the seller has at least a 97% you should be fine.

And don't pay the seller if he closes the auction early for you, but cancels all bids, then expects payment. You have no protection that way...make sure that if he closes the auction early, it is listed as 'closed to sell to highest bidder' - that should be you.

Why would they ever close it for highest bidder, that could lose them money. Just bid normally and you'll be fine.

Recently a seller did close an auction for a CPS 3000 early, in reply to a special offer from a bidder. I agree with you though, it doesn't seem sensible seeing that people often try to 'snipe' at the last moment.

Spinner, I have to say that I LOVE sniping. It doesn't always help, but when you're bidding on an item, it can sometimes get you a better price if you bid your maximum amount in the last few seconds before an auction closes. Often, people will have a max amount in mind, but bid a lower price at first. By sniping, you can beat their initial bid and not leave them enough time to bid their maximum.

I know, I've sniped myself. Did you think I was condemning it? :P

Dark's strategy, though, is to get a big bid in early. I'm kinda following that idea at the moment. B)

it works sometimes, but if the high bidder isnt currently at their highest bid, you might try to snipe, and their high bid is higher. It seems people go by 5's so but in 1's or 6's

As bluesmudge said if you put 10.01$ isstead of 10$ then people might think oh I'm not biding more than 10$ and you could win with a penny! ^_^

I think the BIN Big Troubles actually are a pretty good deal. Get them while they last. I would have bought a few already if I didn't have any plans for homemades. I'm thinking another homemade PowerPak, this time with 3-4 chambers, you know what that means. Over 5 minute shot time on a 2-4X nozzle. You'll never run dry, or pump, for the duration of an average battle. That and my planned single chamber homemade like the one I made a few weeks ago are going to be my main weapons.
