@ Ben: I know that. I wouldn't pressurize it to 370 psi just because it says it can.

@ JuchTurtles: Yeah, it's probably isn't going to be that great, but it does have some advantages:

-It can be turned into a WBL/SBL
-It has shells, which may be convinient.
-It makes a big blast, of course

True it can be turned into a WBL or whatever but I'm kinda missing out on the big shells. Are you talking about water balloons here? I don't know if that is that convinient. Refill time will take forever, and here's the other key. It takes you a minute to reload fully, and then a second for a short-ranged balloon riot blast. I don't think it's worth it. But you could always just convert it into a WBL if it isn't workin' out for ya. And that, to me, is what it's lookin' like now.

It would take forever to refill, but if you filled the water balloons bafore the war, it would only take about 10 seconds to put the water balloon in and pump it up. That's better than my last water gun's refill time, which took about a minute. Maybe I could make some sort of multi-shot clip thing:

looks pretty good. but you will have air leaking through the top. I would suggest placing a ball valve above the tee.

Martinshark, why don't you make a sealing breech? You line a piece of PVC with compressible rubber, slide the breech into a set of tracks on the outside, and add a bolt. Then you could have each round drop into place, and then seal the chamber manually. It might accidentally pop a few balloons, but they were going to get popped anyway.

A breech is a lot easier than what you're using now. Even though what you're using would work, all da balloons inside would pop from the air pushing threw. Congrats, you've just wasted 6 balloons!

You're going to at least have to use a ball valve like soakernerd said. If not, just build a breech system.

Yeah, and if you were to release the pressure and have a sealed clip, then all of the balloons would pop at once, like Juch said. If you can't make a breech, then you might have to go for a GIANT ball valve to let one balloon in at a time.

Hmm... the way I see it, it doesn't need a breech. Wouldn't it be like this? (please ignore the dots)

1. the balloons are loaded in the multi-shot thing

2. the air pressure forces the balloon into the screen.

You need to block where the 'clip' meets the barrel before you fire. Otherwise the released air's gonna go up the clip, likely popping the ballons, or if you don't block off the end of the clip firing them out!

@martianshark: Simple, add a ball or similar valve (one that opens and closes).

You would probably need at least a 4" valve, maybe even a 5". It depends on what size balloon you would want to lauch. But a breech would still work the best for what you want.

This really isn't going to work. Besides, I wouldn't waste my money on a 5" valve, especially because I can't find one. How do you build a breech?

This is difficult. I forgot that ball valves have about half the size of orfice (the turning ball) in comparision to the size of the actual pipe. It's not really going to work. Maybe you'd only need a 3" valve, though, even though those are bulky and hard to turn. A 5" valve is ridiculous.

Maybe you could just use another type of valve.

I managed to create (with some help) and use a simple breech on my last launcher.

http://forums.sscentral.org/t4819/2.html

I don't seem to have any pictures that show the entire launcher but they're around somewhere.

Using a threaded adapter and a plug/cap may also work, but I'm not to sure on it.
