Ok, I've fixed the picture. Sometimes I delete big attachments for topics that are dead.

Look at the picture to see how I made the strap. I just tied it around parts. I could have drilled holes to loop it through too.

The guide for this will be out eventually. I think it's a little too hard to pump for battle use, but has good range and shot time on the 2x nozzle. ^_^

Does the modded Vaporizer still shoot upon pumping? Or does pumping build up pressure and that the trigger is that black "thing" on the side of the PVC nozzle?

the 2nd thing you said :Hey, that's funny.: that's the whole idea of the mod, to turn it into a normal gun.

Hey, this is an awesome mod! Its great to see people like you, Doom trying to turn this years XPBackfire-esquepy line up into something worth the $5. I was wondering, since I really Don't like ordering from mcmasters, if you have any more surgical tubing left I will buy some off you. I think I found my new soaker ^_^
I am also thinking of making your homemade soaker design.... I wonder how well some really thick tubing instead of the two air chambers will work B)
Great mod, I wanna try!

As was said to me, this mod is more expensive than the gun itself :P

I don't have anything leftover except for stuff that is getting used that I recycle once and a while. It's not called surgical tubing btw, I call it CPS tubing but it's real name is latex rubber tubing. With a small modification to the homemade's design you could turn it into a CPS, in fact that's what I'm doing with some leftover parts (I got tons). Due to the fact that they are leftover it's going to be made of of 1/2" ID PVC instead of something larger, it likely will work better with a bigger internal diameter. If I make an article about making that I probably will remake once I make the larger internal diameter version.

This really isn't a super-useful gun, in fact the pump is less than useful (containing less than an ounce of water and being 3/4"). It was more fun to make than practical, it probably will work better on those really cheap guns you order off the internet (like that fake CPS 1000 at that Rhino place). If you know anything about making a homemade then the mod already is obvious in construction, you take a piston, add a check valve, a PC, and a trigger valve to make it into a normal gun.

If I was on my normal computer I probably could write a guide to this in a few hours, but sadly I'm locked out again. I'll see what I can do later.

I know what you mean. I through out a SC powerpak that could have been fixed with a hose clamp. Hey, that's funny.

Would it be possible to make an air pressure vaporizer? My idea is to remove the nozzle, put a valve and than a t-joint. On the top of the joint there would be a pressure chamber like on your air pressure homemade, but only using 2 inches of 3 inch pvc instead of 4 inches of it. After the joint there would be a small piece of pvc, then a ball valve, then more pvc and a pvc end cap with a hole drilled in it for an end cap. Would it work? any modifications to this design that would make it work?

Of course you could make an air pressure version. You could modify any design. The problem is that the pump is bad, and this is NOT a good gun because of that. It's really short and 3/4" big, making it hard to pump and not effective. If you replaced the pump with something better it probably would work better. I plan on trying that later.

You also couldn't use 2 inches of PVC. 4 inches is about the minimum. If you looked at the pics you would have seen that there is very little space leftover from the 4 inches, 2 inches wouldn't even fit.

CPS is the best option for this. Just buy the CPS tubing, it's not hard or anything. It also is too much work to turn this into a better gun. It was harder to make than any homemade I have ever made.

Don't you get it? It is horrible. You guys know how hard it is to use the vaporizer?!! Well, thts how hard every pump will be. I don't know how many pumps it takes, but I assume more than 10. That will take you forever to pump. And at about the same price as a k-mod + a 2100. Why not get a 2100?!!!

I pumped it like 25 times and it got about a 600 ml PC at that size. That's a bit below average in pump size. The 3/4" pump makes it very hard to pump too, it would be best to have a longer pump. If you are really up to this mod I guess I'll try to make an article. It will be more useful on other soakers and was fun to make so I probably will eventually add it to the site. Be patient.

25 times! jeese! That would take forever. Wait, thats almost the entire tank. Huh. Well, if you replaced the pump it would be good. But then the only thing about it that you could call a vaporizer is the shell.
