Default Homemade water guns on eBay

For about a month, adronl from the forums has been developing plans to sell homemade water guns on eBay. His first model has a huge, pressurized backpack reservoir that resembles the Water Warriors Aqua Pak: there's a backpack tank that you fill with water, then pressurize with an air pump. Link.

I think this is the first homemade I've seen on eBay. Perhaps his success or failure at selling homemades can indicate how much of a good idea it is to do so in the future. 6 days left and he's got a bid; good start but not a good indicator to future activity. We'll see.

Adronl, good luck with the auction.

I do think we've seen backpacked water guns on sale before (with a video of the builder shooting one), but I couldn't find any more information on them. Maybe Ben will know.

I can't recall any specific instances of homemade water guns being sold but I doubt this is the first. Either way, it's the first with serious intent on producing more.

I do not sell water guns. If you ask me any water gun question by PM or email my response will be to post the question at the forum. My free time is limited. If I do have time I will post a reply to your thread. Private questions are fine and encouraged. Thank you for your consideration.

Well after this sells on e-bay I am going to use the return of funds to make the next generation guns more cost efficient, compact, ergonomic, mounted pump, and full of power.

To the administrators here. Thanks for the backing

Eureka I figured it out my complete design A little note the pump will be rated around 300 psi

Hey adronl, have you made any sales yet? I don't see anything listed on your eBay merchant page anymore.

And if yes, how many soakers have you sold?

Well I sold the first and most expensive one the 8" short tank it only sold for cost but I am happy with that. Now I can do some repairs and upgrades and put the rest up for sale. I had planned on already having the 3" piston gun up but I accidentally warped it by leaving it in my hot car for too long with a little pressure in it. I will be rebuilding it with an upgrade and I plan on having it up starting Thursday this week.

I have been quite busy I just moved this weekend and dealing with other stuff I have going on. I may list 2 at a time also and with the piston guns they are much cheaper so the starting price will only be about $75 no more than $80.

Good to see that you've made another sale, though you don't seem to be breaking even. Perhaps it'll take time for homemades to get imprinted into the eBay market. One suggestion I'd like to put up for the item description is to provide the actual youtube link to the video. In this day and age, everyone does that now and it doesn't take a lot of time to. And that's at mininum. If you've seen other eBay catalogues, they're full of pictures, fancy formatting and fonts, and other information. Try to get as much of that as you can, but at the very least, a direct link to the youtube video in question (or to a search if the actual gun has no vids), would be a good idea.

Good luck with your other sales.
