UserID: 1 | Thought I'd add something. I don't think coffee stirrer straws would work well. They seem too small to me to the point where the area the water can flow through would be reduced and friction would increase. Though, I have no solid idea as to what the affect on the stream would be.

I tried to put coffee stirrer straws instead of normal straws. The result on the lamination was pretty much the same, but I suspect a slight range loss. It is barely notable though. One good thing is the fact that it is easy to fit the straws much more tightly in the reducer.

UserID: 576 | I guess that's predictable. Those straws have thick walls compared to their diameter, plus having so many straws obviously has to restrict flow a good bit. Thanks for testing!

UserID: 320 | Good idea doing the testing! I would have also guessed that more smaller straws would have restricted flow for the same reasons. The testing was good though because it showed that just a few linear guidance walls are enough to do the job; a little goes a long way.
