UserID: 1 | Welcome to SSC! That's a knock off water gun designed to look like the CPS 1500. It is not part of the CPS series and actually uses air pressure. They're still good starts if you're just getting into water guns though. eBay can be full of these knock offs and knowing what a knock off looks like helps. I recall a page that listed known fakes, but I can't seem to find any at the moment. If you wouldn't mind, could we use your picture to start such a page? It would help people identify fakes/knock offs easier. The features to watch out for in CPS 1500 style water guns are the trigger, which is angled in the fake and straight on the real one, and the water reservoir, which has no cap on the fake and has a cap on the real one. The fake's reservoir screws off from what I know.

UserID: 1541 | I see, cheers. ![]() I have absolutely no watergun knowledge... my other half started it with a bottle of water, then a hose, as I say, we found these at a car boot for £2 and were well impressed. Feel free to use my pics, if you want any more taking, ask away. |

UserID: 569 | Generally, CPS series (ie. CPS 2000, 1000) are no longer in stores. If you're really in doubt about the gun (authentic Super Soaker CPS), look at the trigger. Generally it will be different

UserID: 809 | It also lacks the Super Soaker logo on it. I wonder what the internals of the fakes look like...

UserID: 569 | They're probably just PR guns , with pinch triggers. I don't know though.
