UserID: 576 | I'm just wondering, is there a reason you're using vinyl tubing? It seems more of a hassle and more expensive to get pressure-rated tubing and hose barbs, which would also constrict flow. And finally, having solid PVC would offer valuable structure and support. Your first designs looks alright. You could move the tee to the rear and rotate it to squeeze a little volume out of the y-axis, but that's just speculation.

UserID: 572 | There's no real reason I'm going with vinyl tubing, I just sorta got it and started working with it. There's no need for pressure rated tubing because it's only used in the unpressurized areas. I guess it's because I want this gun to have a case, and vinyl tubing is easier to do that with. |

UserID: 1 | Vinyl tubing should be fine for this application. I'm actually moving towards connecting the flow path with tubing while anchoring the parts onto some sort of structure, and any tubing makes sense here. This offers a lot of flexibility in placement. That's what mr. dude is going for as far as I can tell. Pressure rating shouldn't be a problem. I wouldn't say that these areas are not pressurized because on the down stroke up of the pump there is pressure in some tubing where there normally isn't pressure. The words "intermittent pressure" would make more sense. Even still, there's no reason to have large diameter tubing, so the pressure rating will be relatively high to begin with. No worries.

UserID: 576 | Whether there's continual or intermittent pressure through the vertical vinyl tube depends on where you put the second check valve. But that section will be pressurized at least part of the time. That said, if vinyl tubing does withstand medium pressure, then there shouldn't be a problem. I'll take your words for it.

UserID: 572 | I'm pretty close to completion now, I have a decent layout (and inch or two longer than a WW Orca, and about the same height). I'm not sure about reservoir capacity, but I estimate it to be 3-4L. Basically I just need to make a pump and case now. |
