I'm going to start ordering these in some approximate order I'd like to tackle these in in a few days. This post is a reminder.

One thing to note is that I don't care who does these as long as they get done and some sort of guide is made. The purpose of making these water guns is to increase the number of apparent options to some people. Lately I've come to dislike our monopoly on homemade water guns, so if anyone wants to tackle a project mentioned here, go ahead. Please be aware thought that guides are the most helpful, so please document the building process and materials.

Also, if you have any other ideas or potentially helpful links, feel free to post them.

I may do a CPH of some kind...no promises though. My promises tend to fizzle out.

By the way, we'd also be happy to get images and videos of other water guns, even slight variations of the current set. Once again, it's nice that we have a few water guns of each type on the website, but the category is completely dominated by the Trettels.

Sounds great. If I don't add a link to your homemades page quickly, feel free to remind me. I'm trying to be as comprehensive as possible on our page to help everyone out.

One thing I'd like to do in the future too is a "Build Log" for some things that I'm making up as I'm going along. This might work well for you too. THR will work like that. Because I didn't go in with a design in mind, things will change a normal guide would be really inconsistent, so a "Build Log" would make most sense with some sort of parts list and rough guide in addition.

I broke up the pressure relief valves into two types. The Max-D 6000 is a type A valve and I mentioned it in the guide.

My current plans are to finish THR (LRT water gun with an onboard reservoir), finish CP45 (constant air pressure with an HPA tank), and then start a new water gun that I'll give the codename CPA2040. CPA2040 will be a bladder tank water gun. After looking at the available options I want to make something with one. Due to the fact that I don't have infinite funds that likely will be all I'll do this summer.

Also, the CPS alternative I previously mentioned I have decided is too expensive and complicated for manufacturers to use so I'm going to make a post about it later. It's an interesting system worth building, but it's a little too complicated for general use. More details will come soon.

Edit: The more I look at it the less I'm sure water bladder tanks are truly CPS. It's basically CPS with air pushing on the chamber. That's between air pressure and CPS in terms of constantness. It's making me reconsider trying water bladders.

After some more thought, I do not have time or the desire to take on many more projects at the moment so I'll list the status of what I do have planned below.

THR - 80% done - needs a few more parts and to be cemented
CP45 - 25% done - needs more parts, some rather expensive, and a lot of wood work
the contest gun - 10% done - needs more planning and parts
CPS 3000 repair - 10% done - needs epoxy, time to figure out a backpack, but isn't very involved
Nerf gun - 0% done - still in the planning stages

Right now I have about $300 in my bank account. I'm not made of money though. I'll need to spend about $120 on the hosting and domain name this year, and these projects probably will add up to $200 to $300 depending on how many parts I recycle or can get for cheap. I'm also rather bored at home and have a desire to spend more time out with friends, so I don't think taking on more projects is a good idea. I have enough of them at the moment.

After some thought I'm going to put CP45 on the backburner. Most likely I'll finish it during the winter break if not Thanksgiving break. I have the majority of the parts but I want to make sure I'm doing everything correctly before building. The Nerf gun I'm planning will use an HPA tank and has much lower air consumption requirements so I can use it to test the air output of the HPA tank. There's enough overlap in the expensive parts for me to buy only one HPA tank and one regulator without much issue, which is good because it saves me a lot of money.

Ah, I also hate it when theres tons of stuff sitting around to complete yet I don't really have the chance to do so. The sniper WBL is still a bunch of PVC sitting in my family room but I prefer having help with that, and I've also been working on repairing the stubborn FF and now, I have a 2100's incredibly durably broken pump handle to worry about and an Orca to epoxy a leak. Plus I have to take ranges for a MD6k soon. (the wind is pretty calm today so I'd better hurry)

There's definitely more important things at the moment. These aren't my only projects too. Once you start factoring in website work there's more out there. When I get too focused on one project I tend to get bored with it and try something else out. It's good to have ideas but I need to make at least some of them reality.

There's no particular need for the CP45 project so I don't think it's very necessary for the website or myself. I'll probably push back the CPS 3000 repair too because it's not urgent.

One thing I'd love to see is a guide to colossus using LRT. I still to this day have a surprisingly poor command of that mod. I get the gist of it but wouldn't bother doing it with normal intertubes, only LRT. Thing is, I don't know how to clamp it [or where to look for those elusive tubing barbs]. Basically, the guide would be the pc parts [clamping parts and LRT sizes] plus a few pictures. I'm getting a CPS 2000 with a ripped bladder, so it's the perfect mod for it.

I'm not sure 'colossus' with LRT would be such a good thing. The thing with inner tubes is they're individually thin, so you can get quite fine control over how powerful the gun is. Putting LRT over an existing chamber would probably be difficult, and would be as likely to result in breaking the gun as in getting a massive power boost.

As for your CPS 2000 with a ripped bladder - well colossus of any sort is not what you want. What you should do is a PC replacement. Get rid of the old rubber bladder and replace it with LRT. As near as possible in dimensions to original if you want stock performance, or thicker if you want a power boost. You can layer LRT to get even greater power, but it's difficult and the other gun parts might not handle it. You can (bike tube) colossus LRT instead; that might be the only way to get a desired 'in-between' power.

It's not possible to colossus any Super Soaker's PC with LRT, at least at the moment. The OD of the bladder is too large.

cantab is right too. You can't colossus over a hole and expect that to hold the pressure. PC replacement is what you have to do. That guide is pretty detailed but the images are lacking so if you could write your own I'd appreciate it.

You can layer LRT to get even greater power, but it's difficult and the other gun parts might not handle it. You can (bike tube) colossus LRT instead; that might be the only way to get a desired 'in-between' power.

The OD of the bladder is too large. cantab is right too. You can't colossus over a hole and expect that to hold the pressure. PC replacement is what you have to do.
