CPS 2000 for sale

So I met this seller who has a mark 2 cps 2000 in good condition and a cps 3200 also in good condition. Knows the value and could sell them to me. He wants 150 for the cps 2000 and 100 for the 3200, is it worth it to get the guns? why and why not? Id appreciate any quick replys, thanks.

Not at this time of year. Depending on how the market goes, those could be reasonable (for some people...not me) in July. But definitely not now.

Thanks bro, problem is i live in canada, guns that come through there are few and FAR between....I havent seen one since I last had one when i was a kid. I talked him into selling them for $200 together...he says $220 for sure what do you think of that?

It's your choice. I personally wouldn't go for any water gun above its original MSRP, but I know a lot of people would. My opinions are inherently biased.

If you're sure you can't get shipping from US sellers, and you think it's a good deal, then go for it! Although I would at least try to explain the problem with the off-season (lack of demand, lower prices) or let the auction cool a little.

Hmmm... I dunno. That offer is tempting.

But you have to remember that the Mark II 2k wasn't as good as the original. I say just buy the 3200.

I have now found a soaker, the CPS 2000 MK 1 and it has some scufff marks on the nozzle and the tank, the seller wants $130 for it plus $30 shipping, is it worth it? let me know thanks.

If you asked me, no stock water gun is worth more than $80 including shipping. That's my opinion. What matters is if it's worth the price to you. According to my study here, during the summer the CPS 2000 goes for $174 on average without shipping included, so that's probably a good deal comparatively. That one is a better, but not a great, deal.

Isn't the Mark II more durable? So it's not completely 'worse', just different - sacrificing raw power for reliability. Which if you're getting a second hand gun, is perhaps a consideration.

'sides, the Mark II 2k still outdoes pretty much any other stock gun I believe. I expect the Mark I is even more overhyped and will thus cost an extortionate amount.

I've never heard that the Mk. II was more durable but it is generally accepted to be less powerful. You might find the lower power to be more useful because you have no nozzle selector. Mk. Is usually sell for more from what I've seen too, and as you said, it's still more powerful than anything else, so a Mk. II is still fine.

I was under the impression that the two versions of the CPS 2000 have essentially the same power. The Mark 2's bladder isn't allowed to expand as much, so it has a shot time of about 0.8 seconds as opposed to the Mark 1's 1 second. Because it's hard to time 0.8 seconds with a stopwatch (although you could videotape the shot and count the frames), that shot time has been approximated as 1 second. Since the Mark 2 obviously has less PC capacity and less total output, but allegedly the same shot time, the average output over that shot time is underestimated.

If you divide its total output by 0.8 seconds instead of 1 second, you should get equal output to the Mark 1. Additionally, less bladder expansion means the bladder weakens less quickly.

I think the Mk II is more durable...I've heard that somewhere. But anyway, the CPS 2000 is kinda overrated in my opinion. Think about its practicality. It is heavy for most people, it uses up its entire capacity in just a few shots, yet it takes a lot of pumps to pressurize. In fact, the only good thing about it is its power & range. If you want to get it for battle purposes, I would say just get the 3200. If you want to get it to sell it for more or something else like that, then it's up to you.
