UserID: 1 | Welcome to SSC! A sabot is something that seals around a projectile so it can actually shoot. In most projectile weapons, they're used when the projectile is smaller than the bore of the barrel. In water balloon launchers however, they're necessary because the balloons will break in the barrel without them. For more information, read Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sabot As far as what makes a good sabot, the Douchenator guide says to use a Pringles or tennis ball can. The search is your friend here too. Here's a great topic from the forums: http://forums.sscentral.org/t4638/
