Default Camoflaging a Gun.

I've heard about camouflaging water guns. In fact I read about it here. I really don't know how though. I'm worried some paint might wash off or maybe I can afford it. I also haven't seen any posts about it around here. Please tell me an effective an affordable way to camouflage a gun.

Vinyl dye.
Unlike paint which covers the object the dye sinks in the plastic and changes the color to the dye.
Green
brown

Okay that will work but where can I get my hands on some vinyl dye?

Thanks, but I was wondering if there was another way, other than buying it from the internet. Usually I just find a store.

Hmm, has anyone tried a non-paint/permanent method? Like putting a dark cloth/sheet and sort of taping it to the gun? I might try something like that if I can find anything that'll work and go on.

I once had "the furry gun". I spent hours cutting up pieces of brown burlap into flower-like shapes and glued them onto nearly the entire surface of an extremely heavily modded 21K. When an enemy finally saw the thing, which wasn't easy to begin with, they knew what they were up against.

For normal paintjobs, I've usually just used spray paint protected by clear lacquer. Cheap and easy, though it does chip off over time. Then again, a spot here and there doesn't detract from the function of the camo - I don't paint guns for beauty!

go to the paintball/airsoft, or hunting section of a sports store, or some certain chain stores carry this type of stuff (e.g. Wal-mart) And look for camouflage tape. They always use the stuff for hunting, paintball, and airsoft to blend in to surroundings. Its self adhesive obviously, and its somewhat like duct tape. This is probably one of the most affordable option.
Its $10.74 usd for a roll 12-ft long 2" wide at wal-mart. They have 5 different colors/types of camo. The package claims its enough to cover and entire shotgun or rifle. Which is plenty to cover a Super Soaker. It is also weatherproof, and removable and reusable, it also increases grip. You can probably find it other places for cheaper. Heres a link to one example of the camo.

Thanks Specter. That's the best idea I've heard and I'll certainly check it out. Thanks.

I suggest simply using spray paint as DX said. I have painted almost all my guns in the past. I first paint a coat of green, then paint brown and black spots and stripes, you can exchange any of the three colors for any combination of spots, stripes and base though.

Wait, back up. $10 for twelve feet of camo tape? I see two problems with this:
1. I got a roll of camo normal-size duct tape for three dollars at ACME Surplus, and
2. Who dares awaken the mighty WAL-MART? Support local businesses/Target.

EDIT: Never mind, I clicked on the link. That stuff is way better. The ACME stuff is just the kind of camo you might find on designer clothes.
This entire post was probably unnecessary.

I went to Canadian Tire today and found some camo-duct tape for $8. I didn't buy it yet though. (the tape isn't going anywhere.)
