Default Was it SS 1000?

My experience with Super Soakers themselves waned after I discovered the internet and computing, but I still like to look into the market every now and then and can't help but feel like the joy is gone... at least in terms of what I was used to.

Now I've done searches, Google, EBay, and these forums and I'm either entering terms incorrectly, or I've got the models all wrong.

I'm trying to remember what the first series was that came out... I saw your reviews board, and I searched your archives, read your stickies, etc.

I know backpack models are highly sought after, but I don't want to get into an XL or whatever people are stuck on now.

I miss my baby... My Juggernaut.

Backpack mounted water reservoir, triple water / air canisters on the rifle itself, pump under and the trigger wasn't a trigger - it was a handle on the top you pulled back.

If there's another thread on the forums with this discussion, I would be grateful for a redirect - I just got out of the pool and might be more groggy than I'd like to admit.

I'd like to buy one for myself, but I have a feeling it's one of those EBay auctions or something that hits triple digits... but waxing nostalgia might be enough for now.

Thanks, from another Ben out there on the intarwebz.

Hey, that water gun you described was most likely a SS 300. It has 3 PC's, a backpack reservoir, a lever for a trigger, and a pump. Please visit this site for more information.

That's it alright. Wow, I was wayyyy off. lol

I'm already guessing my chances of getting my hands on one are between "forget it" and infinitesimal.

Thanks for the info at least, I'm happier knowing the details at least.

Yeah, they were last made in 1993, so you'd be lucky to see one on eBay. They're collectors items now, but if you wanted a replacement, check out the CPS 3000/3200. They're red hot this season though, so don't think they'll be cheap.

I'm not a small guy, so the backpack on the 300 never gave me any issues. Which of course was a huge advantage to me and a disadvantage to anyone NOT on my team. I may have been slow, but holy deity if you got in front of me.

The SS 300 is truly a great ol' Super Soaker. However, its replacement, the XP 300 was supposedly slightly better built (though I'd still imagine it would be considered more delicate by current standards). Other backpack blasters like the CPS3000 or CPS3200 also packed a decent punch, though if you ask me, the SS 300's stream still felt like it packs a better punch per area.

SS 300s do appear on eBay from time to time. That's how I got my hands on one some years ago now. I know I've seen them since them from time to time.

Default yeah

i missed the boat on a good condition SS300 that recently sold (recently = 1-2 months ago) on ebay for <$40-50. I kick myself for not bidding more. If you're interested, i have a CPS 3000 backpack super soaker for sale, 75-80 OBO will win it.
