UserID: 1132 |  Max-D 3000 help I am trying to do a CVF on my Max-D 3000 and i almost have it open I just have one problem: I can not get the annoying orange thing glued to the gun by the pump off any help would be appreciated.

UserID: 809 | Try the screwdriver hammering method I used on my Flash Flood's pump cap. Get a - shaped screwdriver of any size, and position it appropriately. Use a hammer to get some force in and the thing should split up. Make sure it's centered and in the right direction, etc. Of course, this method is slow, but leaves no mess and if you're careful it might be safer than the saw. (i.e. you may be less likely to damage the pump rod) |

UserID: 1166 | That part is only glued on a few guns, probably ones with a guided pump. The Max-D 5000 doesn't have glue, or many of the other guns I have opened. The Flash Flood is glued, and it has the only guided handle I have ever had to open. |

UserID: 1166 | Ah, yes. I understand your confusion. I was just using the most recent gun I disassembled as an example. To Remove the orange cap, just take a flat-head screwdriver and push it in, and turn. If it's glued, you are going to have to work at it with the method posted above. |

UserID: 576 | Yep, the screwdriver suggestions are right on the money. I can't recall having to cut anything when I opened a Max-D 3000. Just stick a small flathead screwdriver head into the crack and pry it open. Work your way all the way around the pump cap (maybe prying at three or four locations) so that the cap can come off evenly.

UserID: 1132 | Alright thanks everyone I found the CV in the pump and am preparing to plug it up. By the way, do you think Gorrila glue would do the job or would I for sure need hot glue or epoxy.

UserID: 576 | I honestly can't answer your question. I don't know how well Gorilla Glue bonds with plastic, let alone for pressure applications (although it is indeed a fine glue). I do know that epoxy is often used for repairs, and some people have even used it for joining PVC! (Not recommended...  )I wouldn't use hot glue. I highly doubt it would form a seal against such a pressure gradient. Good luck with the mod and repair!
