Welcome to the forums, and good luck with your repair!

For the pump, you could slide a rod inside each half of the old rod (since it broke). Or just replace the the old rod with a wooden dowel.

I don't think you need to take off the nozzle - and it'll be very hard to do. There's probably another screw somewhere or a different piece that has been glued on in an attempt to stop people trying to open the case.

But I might be wrong. Pictures might also help if necessary.

Unless there's damage inside the gun, you don't need to open it. Just look if the orange pump cap can be unscrewed. It is possible to do this on the 1500 and the 1700 as well I think. I've been able to improve the seals and reinforce the pump on my 1500 without taking the whole gun apart(as well as doing a light k-mod, but that's another story ). You should be able to do so to replace or repair the pump.

Avoid removing the nozzle unless you don't care about breaking it, because snapping it off is the only way I know.
