I would like to talk about some armor that I used once. It involved snow pants, a raincoat, and, for effect, a gas mask I bought at ACME surplus. The whole set-up slowed me down quite a bit, in part because the gas mask restricted my breathing. That, coupled with a Monster X...quite effective. Or it would have been, if I'd had an escort. I was one-on-one against a kid with a towel for armor and a Splashzooka, so I got pwned.

Well, I just thought that I should suggest that type of armor, although maybe without the gas mask.

IMO your ability to be agile and quick on your feet is your best armor unless you are in a point blank scenario and or your movement is restricted.

When it is put like that technically when you put on that armor you are destroying your best armor: quickness.

Nice idea - you should have gotten some pictures!

Owners is right though - in general, if you can avoid getting hit at all, that's great. Then again, in a soakfest, who cares? As long as you hit the other person more...

I'm thinking you need more firepower than what you get from a Monster XL. And try using a paintball mask or just goggles instead of a gas mask. I'd suggest a CPS 2000, a CPS 3200, a Power Pak (all rare and expensive guns...), or a homemade water gun.

Yeah, you'r right. A more powerful gun would definitely be better here. The good news is that I just finished my APH (for which I should have used more than one PC

), and the bakpack on that holds six liters. It's the first time I've really felt weighed down in a fight, and it's not quite the ultimate shizzle bazizzle, but it's my first one, and I can probably make a better one next time.
As far as the armor goes, the only real weak point was the neck area, but that can be fixed with a turtleneck and some plasti-dip...whoa. I've got to try that.

Hmm, armour.

That set-up seems more wieldy than the armour we have here, though it sure sounds a lot hotter. Should work decently, though you could swap the gas mask for a ski mask (just to protect the eyes). More oxygen, more movement, and especially with the existing movement penalty armour brings, more mobility would be great. Like what SilentGuy suggested, a homemade, especially one with a backpack would be good. The mobility sacrifice should be adequately compensated with firepower, which homemades are generally better for than commercial guns. The escort is a great idea too for helping you keep your back, from experience with armoured warfare, I'd highly recommend getting a teammate or more.

The standard armour we have is a sheet of corrugated plastic fashioned into a suit that covers the upper and lower torso. This obviously restricts leg movement, though the better made suits eliminate this with movable armour plates for the thigh. The weak point is mainly the rear, which works well to make armoured troops less imbalanced. They all still fear anti-armour weaponry like WBLs though. The real mecha looking armour is only on the drawing board, with plastic armour covering almost every part of the "pilot". Its development is taking a backseat to other armour projects though, which hopefully can be advanced enough to reveal soon.
